  • Puma Clyde for Fall/Autumn 2007

The debate between Puma and Adidas fans over the superiority of their favored shoe brand has been left unresolved for one simple reason. Neither shoe company wants to break the mold on their classic designs, which would alienate their customers and ruin their reputation. Each shoe company is engaged in a cold war where they continue to improve their product’s comfort level and interior design without messing around with colorways, soles and flashy tongues. The Puma Clyde offered for autumn and winter of 2007 demonstrates this effort to continually remake an old classic.

The upcoming Clydes will come in five colorways including the white and red colors presented here and a subtle chestnut color. These shoes won’t sway an Adidas, Vans or other sneaker fan to switch to Pumas if they aren’t already inclined to do so. The Puma Clyde seems ideal for Puma fans who want to reignite their love for this brand.

Crystal Blue Nike Air Max Light

The Crystal Blue Nike Air Max Lights were released this weekend. Like the other colorways that have been released, these combine quite a few colors to make a good looking shoe.

If you are into bright shoes, these are a pretty sweet choice.

I like the dark crystal blue base and the contrast of the bright cactus swoosh against the black.I’m not thrilled with the red trim. But overall, they are pretty sweet.

They are very affordable at around $90.

Check out the next pages for more close up pics from all angles.

This fall, patent leather is extremely popular in women’s fashion. You will find patent pumps, ballet flats, handbags, headbands and even cuff bracelets.

And now, you can also find a black patent women’s sneaker.

These Dolce & Gabbana Quilted Patent Sneakers combine old school style with a updated stylish twist. The shiny, black patent leather is quilted, giving the shoe a sweet texture.

The bright white leather cap toe and laces contrast nicely against the black. These sneakers would perfect to wear with jeans and a black sweater for fall.

At nearly $300, they are a luxury buy. You kind find them at Neiman Marcus and other major department stores, or at Dolce & Gabbana boutiques. View More Photos/Info

New Balance Autumn / Winter 2007 collection.

I love these New Balance shoes. The white and brown colored versions have the tiny perforations for air ventilation. New Balance takes care of feet health and hygiene. I like the idea and experience of wearing shoes that allow breathing space for my feet. Atmos sells these wonderful sneakers for about 11,500 Japanese Yen currency.

The prints are hot favorites for the senior set. They are like coffee table eye candy as the sight is captivated by the crazy patterns. They afford the psychotic reaction in eye therapy. That may be one reason why psychedelic prints are hugely popular. Some brands like Burberry are based on milking the checks, plaids and geometric shapes for their eye catching abilities. The shoe with the check quilted pattern looks warm and inviting.

As always, the designers have the three basic age groups in mind. I think that in general, the white and brown editions are for the young adults. The patterned designs are good for retirees to laze around in and the vibrant colors are for the good brat pack. These gaudily colored boots are supposedly meant for hiking. I can imagine the splash of color they bring to the otherwise placid surroundings.

  • The Ubiq Grace

Most of us can agree that there are few apparel items that are as politically charge as sneakers. Distinctions between city gangs can be a matter of different colorways in the same pair of shoes. Nike Airs and Adidas Originals have allowed shoe lovers to express their allegiance to a certain shoe company and indirectly to public perception of that company. Ubiq has come out with the Grace which will be available in five distinct colors and feature complementary shapes along the outer sole for a subtle stylish touch.

I like the mixture of subtlety and simple style in the Ubiq Graces. Other descriptions of these shoes indicate a native touch in the complementary shapes but I think these simple crosses are harmless. People looking for a politically charged shoe should look elsewhere but take a second look at the Grace when they have come to their senses. These shoes are a higher class competitor to Adidas Stan Smiths and Rod Lavers so it’s worth a look if that is your aesthetic.

    Gucci Sneakers

When you normally think of Gucci, you think of high-end fashions or maybe jewelry. But Gucci also makes a collection of sneakers that are pretty sweet.

This Gucci sneaker pictured above is cool. I like the red leather trim contrasting around the white suede and calf leather. The thing that stands out the most is the black rubber Gucci signature detailing on the side.

These shoes would be good to make jeans look a little bit more dressy. You kind find these and several other styles of Gucci sneakers at Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and several other major department stores around the country.

Check out the photos to see different styles of Gucci sneakers, including a funky brown Gucci logo print and hi-tops for both guys and girls.

The white hi-tops are for women.
