Reebok Freestyle Valentine’s Day – International ExclusiveBy SneakerFreak on February 13th, 2008 | No Comments
This pair of shoes is available at Caliroots for USD 114. This shoe is the International Valentine’s Day version. It is available outside of the US. The US had its own version that was released earlier.
This sneaker has an all white colorway. The accents are in red. The shoe upper is covered in hearts but the print is very subtle. Only the outlines of hearts are used. To avoid making the print boring, there are several sizes of hearts. They come in small clusters that are grouped together to make the hearts look interesting. From a slight distance, the fine print of the hearts cannot be seen and the shoe looks white in color.
I like the idea of using outlines of heart shapes. They look like heart-shaped speech bubbles too. The hearts look like they are talking to one another. That is what hearts are supposed to do on Valentine’s Day.
The toe box is capped by a red sole. This is rounded up by capping of the heel in red sole View More Photos/Info

Air Force Ones in Honor of Black History MonthBy SneakerFreak on February 12th, 2008 | No Comments
Black History Month is a time to recognize the people who laid the ground work for our nation’s heroes. We think of Jackie Robinson as the first African-American to break the color barrier in professional baseball. Mr. Robinson’s work in the Major Leagues after World War II was important but it would not have been possible without Fleet Walker. Pimp My Kicks commemorates this catcher from the end of the 19th century on a pair of Nike Air Force Ones.
The shoe is painted to look like a Louisville Slugger bat right down to the company’s trademark brand. Fleet Walker’s likeness is transferred in perfect detail on both tongues. Pimp My Kicks shows the proper reverence for Mr. Walker and his monumental feat by using one of the best shoes on the market today as a canvas. Check out other offerings from Pimp My Kicks
