Adidas is releasing a Tournament Edition of their famous Rod Laver tennis shoes in time for people to hit the courts this spring. Laver’s name has become synonymous with this simple all-white shoe due to his prolific career. His 392 match wins and 39 ATP tournament victories will never be forgotten with the help of the new Tournament Edition.
This new take on the Rod Laver adds more class with simple touches. An etched Tournament Edition logo on each tongue replaces the standard Adidas tri-stripe. The green heel tag is a darker shade than the regular Rod Lavers and Stan Smiths. The lack of the Adidas name, logo and other branding materials on the Rod Laver is a welcome feature considering excessive branding on most shoes these days.
These tennis shoes probably won’t be used much in singles and doubles matches considering the Rod Laver’s popularity among skateboarders and other sneaker fans. Â The Tournament Editions will be released soon in limited numbers so keep an eye out View More Photos/Info
