  • Chuck Taylor Customs: The Joker
By on July 23rd, 2008 | No Comments Comments

It seems like everyone in the United States has already seen The Dark Knight judging by last weekend’s box office sales. I found a pair of Chuck Taylor customs that make my wait for The Dark Knight easier to handle. Sweatshop Clothing has created a special pair of these familiar canvas kicks based on Heath Ledger’s character, The Joker.

The ominous phrase “Why so serious?” that appears in the trailer and promotional materials is written in red paint just above the outsole. An outstanding image of Ledger’s deranged Joker is placed just below the collars on both shoes. Sweatshop Clothing took great care to make Ledger’s likeness realistic to capture The Joker’s ability to terrorize without making a move.

The designer completed the Joker effect by adding spades, jacks, hearts and diamonds similar to the joker card that inspired Ledger’s character. I cannot wait to see this movie now that I have seen View More Photos/Info

  • Adidas Roster Mid – Blue/Beige & Mark Gonzales Edition

    Adidas Roster Mid - #1

Two new colorways of the Adidas Roster Mid are available now at Overkill. The first is a blue and beige colorway, while the second is the Mark Gonzales edition.

The blue version features a dark blue leather upper, complemented with light blue and beige details. The stripes and other accents are in light blue, while the rest of the shoe uses a light beige and medium beige suede. Though they use several shades, these shoes are a little drab for my taste. They are priced at $131.05 USD).

The Mark Gonzales edition is completely different. It features a white leather upper combined with silver patent leather, black stripes and other black accents. The Mark Gonzales logo and character (a fly skateboard ghost) are embossed on the black leather ankles. These shoes are $154.21 USD at Overkill.

    Source of images: here.

The Nike Fall 2008 Dunk Lows are cool. This collection was designed for autumn. So far, there are two colorways. These sneakers are sold at Proper.

Let’s look at the white/brown/darkbrown colorway. The toe box is in small checks that alternate between brown and dark brown checks. The tongue is dark brown and so is the shoe lace. The thick, broad shoe lace makes the look seem warm and comfortable. The midsection is white and has a strap extended up from the base of the heel. There are 4 holes on the end of the strap and these are nice as decorative details. The inner lining of the shoe is white to keep the shoe looking bright. The swoosh is light brown. Half of the midsole is black, while the lower half of the midsole is white. The outsole is white.

The other colorway is black/ View More Photos/Info
