  • Nike Zoom Sharkley “701″ – Teal/Aqua/Gray
By on September 6th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

The Nike Zoom Sharkley has been one of Nike Basketball’s biggest hits of the summer. The shoe boasts everything one could possibly want: comfort from Zoom Air cushioning, unique design, familiar shape, and a sub-$100 price tag. A few special make-ups were released over the summer at the House of Hoops, but this pair was not in the mix. This “701″ Sharkley comes covered in 3M complimented by teal and aqua tones.

Other cosmetic interests include a splatter painted midsole that can be seen through the translucent teal outsole. On the back, the shoe has a large “701″ stitched on the heel tab, but I have a feeling this was a special make up for NikeTalk member sevenzro1 rather than giving a shout out to North Dakota.

  • Psychedelic Nike Dunks by Chrisco
By on September 6th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Chrisco showed off his latest pair of custom sneakers at the Nike Talk post linked here. These custom Nike Dunks took Chrisco a long time to complete because they required extensive hand stitching, coloring and drying. The result of Chrisco’s hard work is a pair of great Nike Dunks that stand out from the competition.

Chrisco uses a psychedelic theme with tie dyed colors that run the spectrum from yellow and orange to green and blue. I was impressed by the smooth transition of colors as I looked from the outside of the right shoe to the outside of the left shoe. You can see the hard work put into these shoes by looking at the flawless stitching running along the toe box.

The Psychedelic Nike Dunks also feature a set of 3M reflective strips stitched into the heel and tongue. These strips along with the bountiful colors used by Chrisco can View More Photos/Info

Hot on the heels of releases by The Crystal Method, LCD Soundsystem and Aesop Rock, DJ/producer A-Trak joins forces with Nike to launch his debut record Running Man: Nike+ Original Run as the next release for the Nike+ Original Run Series. The inspiration behind the Running Man Dunk was the artwork for A-Trak’s debut album Running Man: Nike+ Original Run. A-Trak, Dust La Rock and Kesh agreed to base the shoe on the album’s white, blue and yellow color scheme, incorporating additional elements wherever possible. Also lifted from the album was the A-Man logo, which was lasered on to the shoe as a finishing touch. View More Photos/Info
