  • Don’t Do It Nike Dunk Lows
By on November 24th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

A designer with the nickname mark12titans posted the Don’t Do It Nike Dunks recently on the NikeTalk thread linked here. While the early comments on these shoes were negative, I think the designer’s work is noteworthy for its boldness. He has shown the brashness needed to be a successful sneaker artist.

My admiration for this boldness only goes as far as the quality of the customization allows. His clever contortion of the white Nike swoosh into a Puma symbol is quickly overshadowed by the dullness of the rest of the shoe’s exterior. In the picture just below this post, you will see the custom insole with the phrase “Don’t Do It” in white letters.

The uneven nature of the Don’t Do It Dunks shows that mark12titans has some work to do in future projects. While the insoles are a stroke of genius, I think that the exterior View More Photos/Info

Theres no doubt that Cool Grey is one of Jordan Brand’s favorite color ways to date and the Spiz’ike is one of (if not) Jordan Brand’s fused sneakers. So it’s only right they combine to create the Cool grey Spiz’ike. . . . But they have. They were originally slated a Euro exclusive but somehow we figured they would eventually make their way over the Atlantic and now they have. The Cool grey Spiz’ike will hit U.S retailers on December 31st, alongside the Black-Citron-Purple Spiz’ikes, just a few days after the 11/12 CDP. These will retail for $175 so budget wisely. • Nike Air Force 2 “Gucci”
By on November 23rd, 2008 | No Comments Comments

    here.

This Nike Air Force 2 “Gucci” has a black colorway but it uses a combination of different leathers. The colors are at the back heel, where the strap is made in the classic Gucci colors of red and green. Immediately below, Nike is embossed into the midsole. Nike has chosen to use a black colorway for this Air Force 2 to present a classic look. The different leathers provide the fine details on the upper. This shoe is supposed to be available at Nike retailers.

The toe box is unpolished suede. The mudguard has leather grains in its pattern. The rough, pebbled look provides texture for the mudguard. The midsection has an unpolished segment which is surrounded by different grades of leather. To make the midsection interesting, perforations have been punched into the leather at the central part of the section. In keeping with the uniformity of the black color, the tag at the tip of the tongue View More Photos/Info

  • Ladies Tigar Nike Dunks
By on November 23rd, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Champate dropped a limited edition Tigar 2.0 Dunk for men earlier this month. The designer showed the ladies some love with a women’s size 6 version of the Tigars. These photos were found on Champate’s NikeTalk post linked here.

The Ladies Tigar Dunks use the same image of a fierce tiger on the heel that was used on the Tigar 2.0. Champate switched out the blue/gray hues of the Tigar 2.0 with pink shading on the nose and eye. The pink hue was used on the Nike swoosh and the designer’s logo to stand out from the black background.

While the Ladies Tigar Dunks were a one-of-a-kind pair of customs, Champate’s work is still impressive to look at. The rendering of the lion image and the deliberate use of color shows sophistication rarely found in the custom sneaker world.
