  • Cinderella Delta Force Low
By on January 23rd, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Ripp’s daughter Triniti wanted a pair of custom sneakers that honored her favorite princess, Cinderella. The designer was more than equal to the cause, creating the Cinderella Delta Force Low for his 3-year old daughter. Ripp did a great job bringing the images of the Disney movie Cinderella to life on these sneakers.

He started out by using an uncommon shoes (Delta Force Lows) as his canvas. Ripp proceeded to lay down pink as the base color from toe to heel. The toe box, heel panel and middle panel feature a purple backdrop with colored dots to show the magic that turned Cinderella into a real princess. Ripp separated the beautiful painting of Cinderella and the shadowy image of the carriage, demonstrating the long trip taken by the young woman into glitz and glamor.

Ripp showed that his daughter will be the one and only owner of these shoes by writing Triniti in blue on the heel tag. These shoes are perfectly designed for a young girl aspiring to View More Photos/Info

  • Kanye West for Louis Vuitton Sneaker
By on January 23rd, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Here’s an official image of one of the shoes featured in the Kanye West and Louis Vuitton collaboration. With simple styling and a bold red color, these sneakers feature a special quilted flap on the back heel for your jeans.

Here’s more info from the press release:

PARIS — Marc Jacobs and the Louis Vuitton men’s studio director Paul Helbers have some design competition this season. Kanye West, who was sitting front row at the Vuitton show, has designed a line of five LV sneakers. Only one design, above, was featured in the show — a monochromatic midtop with no frills, save for a quilted flap in the back, all the easier to tuck pants into.

“The inspiration came from a jacket with a huge collar in the movie ‘Dune,’ ” West says. “Most sneakers focus on the tongue, so I wanted to do something different.” West knows whereof he speaks: he says he has no idea how many shoes he owns, but he does know that he routinely needs to send shipments off to storage.

  • Air Jordan 1 “Sole to Sole”
By on January 23rd, 2009 | No Comments Comments

This “Sole to Sole” Jordan pack will drop in Feb. 2009. This shoe was inspired by “A Tribe Called Quest’s” album cover for Midnight Marauders. Each pair costs $110. The shoe uses the Air Jordan 1 High model. Its colorway is black/ varsity red/ classic green.

The toe box is splattered with red and green stripes. The mudguard sets the frame for the toe box. The midsection has the same design as the front. The Nike swoosh is a different leather that is shiny and contrasts with the rest of the shoe. The tip of the tongue has a nice red order. The shoe strap at the ankle looks good. There is an Air Jordan logo embossed on the shoe strap. The horizontal red and green strip decorates the strip nicely.

The midsole has been adorned with a line of green stitches. The lower part has a line of red color from the outsole. Personally, I think the red and green is a good combination. This was inspired by the figure on the album cover. The black colored shoe lace is good as View More Photos/Info
