  • D(EYE)NO-mite Nike Dunks
By on February 9th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

YoaKustoms used his D(EYE)NO-mite Dunks to bring us eye to eye with a dinosaur. The designer shows the power of this prehistoric beast by simply focusing on its eyes. These photos were found at the YoaKustoms Customsnkr.com blog linked here.

The designer used a yellow/green colorway to depict the skin color of the fearsome beast. On both sides of each shoe, YoaKustoms paints black pupils within yellow eyeballs to show the beast’s narrow focus on its prey. As your eye moves outward from the pupil, you begin to see bits of green in the eye socket before the entire shoe gives way to green scales.

I love YoaKustom’s depiction of each shoe as a dinosaur, surveying its territory before hunting down its next meal. The D(EYE)NO-mite Dunks live up to their name with subtle imagery and vibrant colors. YoaKustoms did a great job with small details like shading underneath the eyes and the spot-on look of the green scales that made these shoes look great.

  • Air Jordan Dub Zero – Cement
By on February 9th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

The Dub Zero was Jordan Brand’s first fusion type shoe, and it was a hit. Just like the Cement III’s and IV’s these were modeled after. Cement has become Jordan’s biggest and most famous color way, aside from the Bulls Red, Black and White. However, if you can’t pick up a pair of cement III’s (regular or fusion), IV’s or even the cement phat I’s you can get your cement fix with these Dub Zeros. The midsole feature the beloved gray and black speckled print along with some solid black trimmings. Besides the “cement”, the color blocking on the upper might catch your eye. Usually the shoes on the upper side panels are outlined with the accent color of the color way but this time they went with a little different approach. Instead they’ve colored certain parts of the shoes a dark grey that’ll help you distinguish them from one another a little better, not that you need any help. The Cement Dub Zero won’t officially release until April but grab them early at View More Photos/Info
