    Nike City Knife II

Last year, we saw the release of the Nike City Knife. The City Knife is a foldable shoe that is lightweight and very portable. In 2009, we now see the Nike City Knife II. Designed by Kirsten Schambra, this shoe improves upon the original and the result is an extremely interesting concept. If you need to carry a change of shoes around with you, this shoe is a good option.

This release in wearable by both males and females and features a colorway of black, red and blue. The many triangles used in the design to make the natural creases for the foldable aspect. Longtime sneakerheads can probably recall the Nike Pocket Knife, a similar release more than a decade ago that was billed as a climbing shoe. Via High Snobiety. View More Photos/Info

  • Nike Zoom Kobe IV “Del Sol”
By on February 10th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

The Nike Zoom Kobe IV “Del Sol” is the best pair of shoes for Kobe Bryant. Bryant won a few games wearing these awesome sneakers. This “Del Sol” shoe is the official competition shoe for Kobe Bryant this season. The Nike Store is selling these for a song at $120. If you already own one of these shoes, please tell us what you think of them.

The shoe starts with a toe box lined with regular perforations. The mudguard’s leather has grains and is a pattern in itself. The tongue is black to blend in with the upper but the large white tag draws attention to itself by being a contrasting color.

The midsection cuts with longitudinal lines. The collar at the ankle has machined stitching of squares. The heel switches to shiny black leather. The yellow accent is minute in the lines. The white accent plays a bigger part with the shoe lace, Nike swoosh and outsole of the toe box. The other half of the outsole and midsole is in black. Although the shoe is uniform in color by using black, the quality of the materials provide details. (Image) View More Photos/Info

  • Sublime Air Force Ones
By on February 10th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Flydea was tasked with bringing a pair of roughed-up Nike Air Force Ones back to life. Instead of just cleaning off some asphalt and putting out a basic design, the designer created the vibrant Sublime AF1s. I found the Sublime Air Force Ones at Flydea’s Nike Talk post linked here.

Flydea used the band Sublime as a partial inspiration for these wild customs. The middle panel features a Dalmation white/black pattern that is intriguing compared to the orange Nike swoosh. Flydea used orange on the rest of the shoe with the exception of some crashing blue waves just above the midsole.

The designer was not averse to bringing out all the tools in his kit to finish this restoration. Flydea faded the orange on the Nike swoosh into yellow, showing his skilled hand and eye for creativity. The sum of the design elements are greater than the whole on the Sublime Air Force Ones.
