This is the Nike Zoom LeBron VI Christ the King HS PE. This shoe has a white upper. Its accents are in maroon and gold. The maroon is often partnered with the gold. The shoe lace has a dense woven pattern of gold and maroon together. The tongue is in mesh. There is a large gold colored logo at the tip. The tongue and lace occupy the central point of focus. The maroon Nike swoosh on the midsection has a gold outline. The midsole is thick with machine stitches in gold for details.

The back of the heel has some nice features. The strap says “Christ the King” with white lettering. The bottom of the heel has a border in gold and black strips. The midsole below the heel has a thick segment sandwiched in-between the maroon colored layers. The outsole forms a pair of “claws” to gripe the gold segment and hold them tightly in place. The collar at the ankle is made of thick, woven fabric. The inner lining of the shoe is padded with thick, maroon View More Photos/Info

  • No Name Dunk Highs
By on February 21st, 2009 | No Comments Comments

D@ Prince Customs had a problem adding a label to his No Name Dunks. The designer was asked by a client in California to employ bright colors and wild designs for a special 20th birthday present. I found photos of the No Name Dunks at the D@ Prince MySpace page linked here.

The base Nike Dunk for this project featured a simple black/blue/white colorway that is difficult to imagine after seeing the No Name Dunks. The most noticeable feature on these customs is the pink on the laces, toe and heel. D@ Prince used turquoise for the heel tag and the toe box as a cooler alternative to the bright pink.

D@ Prince continues to earn his reputation for dynamic sneakers with the No Name Dunks. I am a big fan of the black/turquoise print on the middle panel, which must have taken a long time to get right. After looking at the No Name Dunks a few times, I can see why D@ Prince had a tough time naming these shoes. The No Name Dunks are one of a kind and brilliantly designed, defying labels and explanation.
