  • Nike Womens Outbreak High “Pucci Pack”
By on February 26th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

The Nike Women’s Outbreak High “Pucci Pack” edition is going to drop soon. More information on these will be released later by the Nike website.

The left side and right side of each shoe looks different. The inward facing side has more of the colorful pattern than the outward facing side. The outer surface has a large section in white, with large “Nike” letters printed in light blue on its upper. The mudguard has vertical strips and corrugations. The toe box has a generous portion of this mudguard. There is a fancy, gold colored, bow shaped shoe lock. The white shoe lace blends in with the rest of the shoe. The midsole and outsole are grey and blends well together. There are light lime green inserts into the sole.

The graphic pattern on the shoe upper is hard to describe. The art is kind of abstract. The colors are in pastels, which are favorites of women. The tongue uses the same graphic material as the shoe upper. The Nike Tag had to be in a dull, contrasting color.

The back of the heel has a segment in shiny, stain like material. This is View More Photos/Info

  • Air Jordan 6Rings – Flint Grey
By on February 26th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

If you own a pair of XIIIs chances are it’s the Flints and if you don’t you probably wish you had a pair. So it makes since that Jordan Brand took such a likable color way and used it on the 6Rings. One of the main reasons why this color way works so well is the resemblance the 6Rings has to the XIIIs, the midsole on these is practically the same as on the XIIIs. Using the same materials on the upper was a genius idea and def helps get the feel across. Sizes 8.5-11 now at Marqueesole.

  • Kaboom! Nike Dunks
By on February 26th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

JBF created the Kaboom! Nike Dunks for a client who wanted to give his kid some nice customs. The Kaboom! Nike Dunks balance simple colors with complex design, a trademark of JBF’s work. I found these photos at the Nike Talk post linked here.

If you start your examination of the Kaboom! Dunks from the heel, you may not think much of these customs. With the exception of a pair of pink pupils emerging from the black panel, JBF left the back half of the Kaboom! Dunks clean. The designer focused his attention on the eyelets and toes, setting off some artistic explosions around the white toe box.

JBF used jagged black lines to create the shock waves surrounding pink/white flash points. Instead of setting off a few simple explosions, JBF overlapped the shock waves to simulate all-out war. The designer’s use of subtle colors like black, gray and white allowed the pink flash points stand out. The Kaboom! Nike Dunks demonstrate JBF’s ability to make sophisticated sneakers without resorting to wild colors and crazy graphics.
