  • Nike Madiera Pack: Nice Option for Women Looking for Options
    By on October 29th, 2007 | 1 Comment1 Comment Comments

    nikedunkhigh.jpg

The Nike Madiera Pack offers three distinct looks for the discerning female sneaker fan. The opening salvo of the pack is the Nike Air Max 90 in basic colorways that will go with casual and athletic clothing. The Air Max 90 is followed up by the Dunk High for women ballers that want to change out of their Air Max 90s into a matching shoe. The Dunk High is pictured above and provides sufficient ankle support to break ankles on the basketball court.

The third member of the Nike Madiera Pack is the most disturbing in my view. The Nike Greco High is included with this set of three Nike shoes and doesn’t seem to belong. I would have put an ACG style or a classic running style in with the modern Air Max 90 and the stylish Nike Dunk High. If you feel compelled to purchase a pack under the “two out of three ain’t bad” philosophy, you should go with the Madiera Pack. I would encourage you to make your own set or wait until Nike realizes its mistake before shelling out the money for something you have serious questions about.

    Nike Dunk 2008 Preview

Get a sneak peak of the Nike Dunk for 2008.

These new releases for next year will feature a variety of fabrics and colorways, which are sure to please everyone.

From the basic blue and white variety to a metallic silver and black colorway, the shoes vary quite a bit. You will be able to choose from a lot of options in the Lows, Highs and Mids.

One of the funkier patterns is a red and white print coupled with yellow toe, swoosh and other accents. My favorite choice is the orange and black colorway with the silver toebox.

Check out a bunch of photos on the next page, courtesy of the French website Sneakers.

  • Nike AF1 x Air Jordan 5.

    Nike AF1 x Air Jordan 5.

This is so new, it is only expected in the Spring of 2008. Please click at the “bkrw website” to order this shoe.

Nike Air Force 1 and Air Jordan have a new fusion. This is based more on the Air Jordan 5 design. The colorway is rather plain, so it is called a retro type of colorway. The outer sole isblack, sending this sneaker into the formal white-black classic category. Some fans of the original Air Jordan 5 actually like this new fusion with the Nike AF 1. Do you?

I like the wide shoe strap across the tongue of the shoe. It is a fashion statement, given that the wide waist belt for women has made a comeback. The shoe that reflects the current, hot fashion of D & G’s wide belt is a good shoe to wear together with the waist belt. Many female celebrities wear the belt at public events.

The bottom sole looks beautiful. The plugs for the air shoe are set in a shade of red color against the white sole.

If you like the Nike AF1 x Air Jordan 5, you might like use this to design your own custom pair of sneakers. The base color is white and will take any colors/graphics you add on.

  • New Balance H710 Boot

    New Balance H710 Boot

If you are looking for a boot that stands up to cold weather, but still has some sneaker styling, check out the New Balance H710.

These boots combine fashion and functionality in a nice colorway. The greys mix nicely with the hot yellow laces and trim. The fuschia also is a nice touch. These are far and away better than wearing a basic brown or black boot, or a pair of standard Timberlands.

The New Balance H710 boots retail for $90 and are available now at retailers across the country. They’ll make a great addition to anyone’s winter wardrobe.

Thanks to Complex for the photo.

  • Supra Raider High a Good Option for Pickup Games
By on October 29th, 2007 | No Comments Comments

    supraraiderhigh.jpg

The casual sneaker company Supra has come out with the Raider High, a street shoe inspired by classic basketball sneakers. The Supra Raider High features a reinforced ankle support to help you dribble past opponents in a pickup game. The use of Suprafoam in the Raider High’s midsole helps cushion impact as you take that first step toward the basket. The colorway shown above is your best bet because of its subtlety.

My favorite part of the Supra Raider High is its price. Unlike expensive Air Jordans and Nikes that try to capture the classic basketball shoe look, the Supra Raider High retails for $49.95. You can find something between the low grade Starburys and the Disney-esque mark-up of other basketball shoes. Check out the Supra website for more information on the Raider High which is on store shelves now.

  • Nike Dunk Low Rasta Pack
By on October 29th, 2007 | No Comments Comments
    Nike Rasta Pack

The Nike Rasta Pack features a couple Dunk Lows, the Air Stab and a few other shoes.

The Dunk Low pictured above offers a Black/Black-Anthracite-Pine Green colorway and the classic Dunk Low shape. The shoe combines Black/Anthracite suede with a green bottom and accent stitching. The focal point of the shoe is the colorful rasta laces.

The other Dunk Low is very similar to this one, but with red detailing instead of green. Both of these shoes are now available at Purchaze for 90 euros (about $127 USD).

Also in the Rasta Pack is the Air Stab. It features premium leather and a mix of snakeskin throughout the shoe. This shoe is all about texture and color. It mixes various leather in white, black, yellow, red and green. The AIR STAB logo is in red against a black background at the heel, while the swoosh is in green.

I really like the look of the black laces on these shoes. It’s a nice contrast to the white tongue.

Look for more shoes in the pack to be released soon.
