Adidas "Scores for Schools" Gil II Zero

As you know, Gilbert Arenas will be bringing you multiple versions of the Adidas Gil II Zero this year.

The “Scores for Schools” Gil II Zero pictured here are the shoes that Gilbert wore on Monday for the Scores for Schools Foundation Kickoff Event. At the event he selected 82 lucky Washington schools out of a lottery pool of 245 to be a part of his Scores for Schools program.

He set up this program to provide inner schools in the Washington, DC area with funding. Throughout the season, he will donate $100 to the Foundation for every point that he scores in home games. Then the total amount is matched by the Wizards organization. Last year, the foundation raised over $120K.

The Adidas “Scores for Schools” Gil II Zero is a white shoe with red and blue accents. It features the Scores for Schools logo the foot strap. 5000 pairs of these shoes are being released to the public in February 2008.

Check out Gilbertology for information on future releases of different Gil II Zero colorways throughout the season.

At about $112 American, the Nike Windrunner TR 2 may seem like a disappointment for the uninitiated. The Windrunner TR2 has been two decades in the making and the profile is incredibly simple for the high price tag. A gray/black/yellow colorway is serviceable though flashier sneaker lovers may want greater variety from a Nike model.

Anyone who sets foot in a pair of the new Nike Windrunners will leave behind their concerns about the price. The wider toe box prevents your feet from rubbing up against the interior while the mixture of nylon and leather is perfect for street running in rain or shine. I have tried on past versions of the Windrunners and if the shoe’s historical success is any indication, the Nike Windrunner TR2 is a must-have for casual joggers and sneaker fans.

    Nike Dunk High Custom

These Nike Dunk High and Low customs look pretty good – particularly for someone who says that they just started creating custom sneakers this summer. I really like the use of color and the detailing. I actually like the look of the Low better than the High. Though obviously they are extremely similar.

If you want more information about these shoes or to find out about other customs from 54AV, visit the Nike SB forum for more information.

  • Puma Suede Mustard Yellow/Blue

    Puma Suede

Puma recently dropped a couple of new pairs of Suedes.

The “Season Spot Color” comes in two hues. The Mustard Yellow/Blue colorway pictured above is a slick combination that looks sweet. The contrast of the yellow and blue is nice. But the colors are muted, so it doesn’t look too bright or drastic.

Also available is a Beige/Light Beige colorway that is great for fall. The brown tones are perfectly subtle and clean. I like that the laces are the same color as the shoe; it keeps things simple.

You can get these shoes from Mita Sneakers. Right now they are 8500 Yen, which is about $75.
