  • Nike ACG Pocket Knife

    pocketknife.jpg

The All Conditions Gear (ACG) series by Nike is designed for nature lovers who are left unserved by competing shoe companies. Nike ACG have been created to deal with snow, rain, dirt and other elements on a regular basis. I have had different all conditions shoes from other companies and I think that there are some good competitors to the Nike ACG. My perspective may be changed by the release of the Pocket Knife by Nike.

One look at the Pocket Knife may not be enough to fully appreciate this shoe. On first blush, I thought the shoe looked too alien to be worn out in the wild. The side stitching, bright colors and unconventional profile of the new Pocket Knife make it an acquired taste. If the gray/green colorway is not your thing, you can check out a yellow/gray colorway that I enjoy in the More Pictures section.

This shoe will be readily available by the beginning of January 2008 for people who like camping and fishing in the middle of winter. I will look to the Nike ACG Pocket Knife as an option once my ACG-inspired New Balances and Adidas run their course. Keep an eye on the Nike website for these unusual but functional kicks.

    SBTG x MR..SK PROJECT AC/DC Part 2

Last month, SBTG and MR..SK teamed up and released 12 pairs of shoes in the very limited Project AC/DC. All 12 pairs were gone in 3 minutes. Because they have received so many inquiries about these kicks, they decided to create Part 2.

In the first part, a Dunk High and AF1 were used, this time they will be using a Dunk Low.The concept remains the same – Electrical Storms, but this time darker colors are being used, hence the name of the project “AC/DC Eclipse”.

There are two colorways and six pairs of each color will be released. These sneakers combine leather and denim, along with some hot designs for a very special shoe. I prefer the black/dark grey-white colorway, just because I like darker shoes. But the red on the other colorway (blue/varsity red-navy) is very dramatic, making for a sweet looking choice. I am sure both shoes will sell out just as quick.

Like the first AC/DC’s these shoes come with a hefty price tag at $520.

These shoes will be released exclusive on Kix-Files on Tuesday, December 18th at 00:00AM GMT+8:00.They will ship out a few days later.

  • Nike Dunk SB Mid “Donatello”

    Nike Dunk SB Mid "Donatello"

These new Nike SB Mids will be released in spring 2008. They are dubbed “Donatello” after the character from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. If you a TMNT fan, you will want to grab a pair of these when they are released.

Using amixture of several fabrics, including perforated leather, textured leather and suede, these kicks are very unique. The bright green toe box, tongue and Swoosh make for a dramatic contrast to the dark shoes. The purple laces and SB logo on the strap are very nice touches.

Look for more information on these early next year.

Nike AF1 Hi Bobbito Hiking Pack 1

Nike recently released the Bobbito’s Puerto Rico Nike Air Force 1 Pack. These sneakers are available at Overkill from Dec. 15. Each pair costs around $155.87.

This shoe is in a nice, beige color. Even the mid-sole is a brown-beige in color. The “AIR” patent is imprinted on the mid-sole.  Just above it is the icon of the hand. There is a special tag, also made from leather. It has the Nike Air Force label. This is very eye catching.

I like this shoe for the fact that it is uniform in one color. Even the Nike swoosh is in the same color as the colorway. The shoe laces are in a slightly lighter color. Of the 2 shoes released in this pack, I love the beige color shoe better than the other pair in earth-brown.

The second pair in this pack is slightly more colorful. It has a mid-section that is green in color. The rest of the shoe is in one color and the design is almost identical to the beige pair. The mid-sole is white and the bottom-most sole is grey.  The small icon of the hand at the heel is less visible because of the brown color.

In my opinion, the beige shoe looks a little more feminine and would suit the female user more. The brown pair looks masculine and macho and would make any guy’s feet look good in them.

  • Nike Air Mocs in 2008

    airmoc.jpg

The Nike Air Mocs that are about to hit the market in Japan and Europe are a pleasant alternative to the regrettable Ugg boot phase of recent years. The Air Mocs that will line shelves at the beginning of 2008 are available in the black colorway shown above as well as an off-white color. Each shoe has two fastening cords that allow you to loosen or tighten the Air Mocs for your needs. A simple tread pattern allows you to cut through the elements without slipping.

Nike’s past versions of the Air Moc have stood up against the elements unlike Uggs and other stylish boots. You can trudge through the snow, wipe down the Mocs and head inside for a day of shopping. Keep an eye out for the new Nike Air Mocs in the spring of 2008 if you need a less expensive alternative to overhyped competitors.

  • Adidas ZXZ ADV LEA – Superstar

Adidas ZXZ ADV LEA - Superstar

Adidas has created a very colorful version of the Adidas ZXZ ADV LEA. Though the shoe is mostly white, it is decorated with multi-colored exploding and shooting stars inked in various places on the shoe.

Throughout the multi-colored Superstar you will find touches of orange, yellow, pink, red and light blue. I really like the use of yellow to edge the Adidas stripes.

Another nice feature is the layered colors in the sole. The midsole is white with blue underneath and black bottom sole. There are also touches of red near the heel.

These sneakers are available right now on eBay from eBay retailers such as SucremeUSA for around $50.
