Pimp My Kicks has released another team-inspired pair of Nikes certain to please fans and sneaker lovers alike. These Nikes are painted with the name and logo of the Pittsburgh Steelers across the toe box. The helmet logo which represents the three rivers that intersect in Pittsburgh is painted accurately on the right shoe. The team name is stamped with white paint on the left toe box to look industrial.

I enjoy the small touches used by Pimp My Kicks to accent these grand designs. The yellow paint that is the secondary color on the black uniforms worn by the Steelers is placed on the heel. I have never been a big fan of the Steelers logo but I think Pimp My Kicks did it justice on these shoes.

    Air Jordan 6 Carmines

Though many people thought the Infrared Jordan 6 would be the one featured in the Jordan 17/6 Countdown Pack, instead it’s the Air Jordan 6 Carmines.

This shoe has been loved since its release in 1991 and there’s not that many wearable pairs out there. Many Jordan collectors have been on the hunt for Carmines for years, and now they can get a pair with this release.

Though the date hasn’t been set, they are definitely coming!

These Carmines feature a terrific Whte/Red/Black colorway that’s sure to please. Look for more information on these shoes coming soon.

Nike Zoom Kobe III - All Star Game 2008

With the All-Star game quickly approaching, here is a preview of the kicks Kobe Bryant will be wearing. With a red and white colorway, the red in these Nike Zoom Kobe III’s will match the color of the Western Conference All-Star jerseys.Kobe will once against be starting in the West this year. He’ll be joined in the starting lineup by Allen Iverson, Carmelo Anthony, Tim Duncan and Yao Ming.

These shoes look very smooth and should be a hit on All-Star weekend. While there is basic use of the red and the white, the thing that stands out on these shoes is the netted look which is used to replicate the look of a basketball net.

All-Star weekend, which is in New Orleans this year, begins on February 15th and culminates with the All-Star game on Sunday, February 17th. Photo via Kenlu.

  • Nike Dunk Hi 1 Piece – orange, green, purple colorways.

Nike Dunk Hi 1 Piece - orange

The Nike Dunk Hi 1 Piece means what it says – the shoe upper is seamless and is entirely in 1 piece.Another special feature would be that it was having the used look trait. The right shoe of every pair of sneakers had a big patch of black colored stain. Some people would love this because they like the used look. It is similar to buying stone washed denims because they have the faded look.

The orange colorway looks good with the black stains. I like the toe box with the bullet holes. I think the whole concept for this design is to look cool. I admire the way Nike could do this shoe without making any seams in the shoe upper.

I like the two pairs with the orange/white colorway and the green/white colorway. I think that the whites in the colorways make the shoes suitable to blend with a great many colors of clothing. White is a safe color to stick to and buying such a versatile shoe would mean stretching my dollar.

On the other hand, the yellow and purple colorway forms a unique combination and would stand out anywhere. However, it is tougher to match this sneaker with colored clothing.

These shoes will be released on Feb. 1, by ACU. The price tag would be ¥1100 for each pair.

  • Adidas Superstars in Honor of Boston’s Big Three

The biggest news in the NBA this past off-season was the rejuvenation of the Boston Celtics. The franchise had languished in the years since Bird, McHale and Parrish were battling against the Knicks and the Lakers. The Celtics added superstars Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to help Paul Pierce bring a championship back to the team.

The design team at All Souled Out created a pair of Adidas Superstars in honor of the new Big Three in Boston. The shoes are painted black except the outsole and toebox which are kept white making the shoe look appropriate at the bowling alley. The tri-stripe symbol is painted over to highlight the white clover with the jersey numbers of the Big Three on each leaf.

I think these shoes are appropriate for diehard Celtics fans instead of general sneaker lovers because of the significance of the Big Three in the franchise’s fortunes. The simple design may not appease customs fans who like shoes with some flavor but it does the job of commemorating a new chapter in Boston basketball.
