  • Custom Nikes Modeled after Jordan VII Raptors
By on March 14th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

    sbcustoms2.jpg

These custom Nike SBs were created by an amateur designer whose friend was not keen on the yellow fade underneath the swoosh. You can check out the original shoes after this post for comparison’s sake. I think that the switch from yellow to purple underneath the swoosh alters the appearance of the shoe in a negative way.

I understand that bright yellow is not the favorite color for many sneaker fans. The problem with changing from a contrasting color to a matching color under the swoosh is that the shoe’s signature mark is lost. Another layer of purple paint will turn the back half of these shoes into a big mess.

The designer wanted to model these shoes after the Jordan VII Raptors but I think he missed the mark. There is something to be said for keeping a shoe with garish colors intact if the alternative is creating a mess. I hope that the designer who posted this on Nike Talk improves on his work in the future by thinking about the reasoning behind the manufacturer’s colorways and designs.

Nike Mad Jibe Deck Shoes - beige

The Nike Mad Jibe is a deck shoe. These shoes are available from finishline. One pair costs around $90.

This first picture shows a classic upper with two main colors. The toe box is raised by a border of beige leather. The thick and rough stitching in white thread gives the front a rugged and tough look. The white section of the toe box extends right up to the beginning of the tongue section. The toe box has regular patterned holes on it. The look is classic and uniform. The tongue is short and made up of the same perforated pattern. The shoe lace braces are metallic and sturdy. I like the raw leather shoe laces.

Thegreen/grey colorway shoe has a few more features than the first colorway that was discussed above. It has a blue line of color as the accent for the toe box. The shoe brace rings are attached by small orange colored leather rings. The inner lining has the same orange color as an accent.

The last two pictures show the light brown and black colorways. The entire shoe has one uniformcolor. These two models look traditional and serious. They are most suitable for use in official functions. I would choose the black pair of shoes as the one that is the most versatile for me.
