Nike Glow In The Dark Sports Spray

Nike together with designer Pierre Haulot have created the Nike Virtual Spray, which is a glow-in-the-dark spray that enables you to play in the dark. You just need to spray the paint to create goals, court outlines, boundaries, and a glowing ball and then you are ready to play. The paint will dissapeare after two hours. [Complex]

  • Asics and Alife Rivington Club Combine for Gel Lyte III

The May 2008 debut of a new Asics-Alife Rivington Club collaboration is intended for stylish runners around the world. The two companies will produce a limited run of their Gel Lyte III pack with gray/pink and yellow/blue colorways. I have highlighted the yellow/blue colorway in this post because it shows the pros and cons of the Asics design aesthetic.

I remember when Asics were known as a shoe for sprinters and wrestlers. The shoe company had specialty sports shoes with track spikes and high ankle supports without spending much time on more conventional sneakers. Asics is working with Alife Rivington Club to make their signature running shoe into a premium product. The red “Rivington Club” label on the outside heel of both shoes gives it an elite feeling.

The problem that arises with any pair of Asics Gel Lyte IIIs is that the design is not that attractive. Asics uses unattractive shades like mustard yellow that highlight the distance that needs to be covered for the brand to catch up to its competitors. The Alife Rivington Club collaboration on this new pair of Gel Lyte IIIs highlights the brand’s problems instead of its virtues. This new pack doesn’t offer anything in terms of aesthetics and comfort that couldn’t be found in a less-expensive pair of Asics.

  • PUMA x Yo! MTV Raps – 3rd Series

    PUMA x Yo! MTV Raps - 3rd Series #1

For the third time, PUMA and Yo! MTV Raps have teamed up. In this release, which features three shoes, you can get some old school hip hop flavor mixed with the classic PUMA style. Quantities will be limited so be sure to pick up your pair if you spot them.

They are due out on April 15th at exclusive retailers such as the Harajuku and Osaka flagship stores of XLarge in Japan.

Of the three shoes, the craziest feature a red, white and yellow colorway. The yellow laces and the oversized Yo! MTV Raps logo makes it extremely wild.

If you’d rather have a more subtle shoe, check out the version that features a black and red colorway. This shoe is far from boring as it combines both suede and patent leather.

The third version, which is gray, black, red and white, also has a lot of flavor.

  • Nike SB Zoom Tre A.D – Rasta

Nike SB Zoom Tre A.D - Rasta #1

If you are into the Rastafarian look, Nike has a look that should mesh perfectly with your style. While Nike has had some Rasta-themed releases in the past, these shoes might be their best effort yet.

While the shoes are mostly laidback, they have just enough Rasta style to make a fashion statement.

The colors most associated with the Rastafarian movement – red, yellow and green – are utilized smartly on these kicks.

Most of the shoe is black and white, however the splashes of color come into play mostly on the back of the shoe. The yellow Nike swoosh and the green Nike logo on the tongue are other places where the Rasta colors appear.

These will be out at Nike SB retailers soon. Via Sneaker Files
