  • Tormenta Dunk Lows from C2 Customs

The Nike Dunk Lows pictured above were created by Chris Hui and posted on Nike Talk today. The “Tormenta” throws a few curve balls at sneaker fans who like crisp, clean colors. A mixture of gray/black camo and light gray hash marks are applied on the front of the shoe for a fantastic effect. A splash of color in the form of light red paint on the collar prevents these Dunk Lows from falling into boring territory.

The black-on-black colors used for the back panel and Nike swoosh leave a bit to be desired. I am not a fan of using the same color for two overlapping design elements especially on a hot shoe like this. The overall look of the “Tormenta” is impressive despite this small design flaw.

Converse All Star Low - Dragon Scales #1

Another scaly looking shoe is this Converse All Star Low. Denim and Sole just got this shoe in and it’s priced at $150.

It features a reddish-purple leather that resembles dragon scales. The sneaker has a blue Weapon icon on the side. These shoes come with a set of purples laces and a set of neon yellow ones too. Via Sneaker News.

    Reebok Pro Legacy Fishscale #1

Check out these Reebok sneakers that are available over at Overkill. These shoes utilize girly colors and old school patterns to create an exciting release.

The Pro Legacy Fishscale has a color scheme of white, pink, turquoise and yellow. While white is the most prominent color, the other colors certainly light up the shoes. The fishscale pattern is created using pink and turquoise. The Pro Legacy model was hyped by NBA players in the 80’s such as Danny Ainge and Dennis Johnson. This edition is a modern version in retro color combinations. These come in both High and Low models.

They also have the Pump Running Dual, which is a less wild release that uses white, black pink and yellow. Get these now at Overkill.

  • Nike Court Force Hi “Mexican Blanket Pack”

Nike Court Force Hi “Mexican Blanket Pack”
This Court Force High “Mexican Blanket” comes in a mix of interesting colors and patterns. The launch date for these shoes has not been released yet.

The toe box starts with a rough, black leather border. Above it is the white colored toe box. It is in contrasting smooth leather. There is only one line of perforations. The midsection has very colorful patterns. There are at least 3 panels of patterns. These panels are arranged slanting at an angle to the shoe. The first panel shows a chain of diamond shapes. This pattern can also be found in the tongue of the shoe. The second panel has a chain of 4 petaled flowers with yellow bases. The third panel shows the black silhouette of a stack of three blocks.

This third panel merges with the heel of the shoe. The leather here is white with regular columns of perforations. Around the ankle of the shoe, there is a panel with blue colored tie and dye patterns. Above this blue is a black colored panel.

I like the unique shoe laces. They are made of leather threads. At the end of each shoe lace, there are three beads.

  • Renovated and Customized Nike Air Force Ones

YungMoney23 on Nike Talk introduced himself to the world of customized sneakers with the renovated Air Force Ones shown above. The designer says that the base shoe was an older pair of Air Force Ones that needed to be spruced up. I like the colorway used as well as the fine touches applied to these great shoes.

The designer started by painting the back panel with chocolate brown paint to set off the white Nike swoosh. The center section of the shoe is given a coat of cream-colored paint to give the shoe a softer touch. Another section of brown is applied to the front third of these custom Air Force Ones to complete the look.

A look at the overhead picture above shows another interesting twist offered by this first-time designer. A fresh pair of insoles with matching brown color helps set off the entire design. I think we will be seeing more of YungMoney23 in the future if he can get past the difficult sophomore slump.
