  • Viotech Dunk Low

There are few things in the world of custom sneakers more impressive than hand-drawn designs. There are few artists who can design and implement interesting sneakers without the use of stencils, forms and other aids. The Michigan-based designer behind el Cappy Customz created the Viotech Dunk Low using some paint, his hands and a little inspiration.

The Viotech Dunk Lows show that it is possible to create something that is technically sound as well as colorful. The designer mixes different colors and images on these Dunk Lows without showing any rigidity in form. The yellow Nike swoosh ties together all of the elements on these shoes without overpowering the viewer’s eyes.

My favorite part about the Viotech Dunk Lows is the el Cappy Customz logo on the tongue. The picture after this post shows the Dunks from above, giving readers the opportunity to see this understated brand by the artist in question. Check out additional pictures of el Cappy Customz projects at the designer’s MySpace page linked here.

    Vans Herringbone Pack - #1

This is a cool new pack from Vans which uses the herringbone pattern on two different models – the Era LX and the Mt. Edition LX.

Each model in the pack is available in two colorways – black and blue. The low Era LX features the herringbone print on the sides, heel and tongue, leaving the front of the shoes in a solid color. These sneakers are very simple and can be worn with just about anything.

The Mt. Edition LX uses the herringbone throughout and looks a little more wild. These shoes definitely aren’t for me, but may have some appeal. You can get these shoes now at select Vans retailers. Via Sneaker Files.

Puma First Round - Color Pack - #1

Check out this latest release from Puma. These casual kicks are good for those who are looking to add some spice to their wardrobe without sacrificing comfort. While these shoes are definitely unique, they mesh well with the latest trends in fashion.

In these pictures, you will see a pink version and a grey version. The pink one has black as the second primary color, which stands out nicely against the pink. The grey version has white and gold accents, which adds spice to the mix. Both versions have the words “First Round” embossed all over the suede shoe. These sneakers are available now at Flauge. DC Shoes Womens Manteca 2 Mid 80s Pack - #1

Something bright and summery for the ladies – DC Shoes has just released two new Manteca 2 Mids.

Thes shoes feature colorful uppers in glittery shades. If you are looking to make a bold statement this summer, these sneakers will definitely do it. The shoe pictured above is kind of cool with a retro appeal, though very bright. The second colorway after the jumpy is just too overwhelming for me. The black against the pink is too much.

These Manteca 2s are available now at Goliath. Via Sneaker News.

  • Men’s Air Jordan XX3 Low Basketball Shoe
By on July 16th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

This Men’s Air Jordan XX3 Low Basketball shoe has a white colorway. It is sold at FinishLine for $135. The image is from FinishLine too.

The toe box is pure white, without any pattern except for several holes that are punctured into the leather. The tongue is white and made of perforated material. The tip of the tongue has a large, black colored tab with the number 23; Michael Jordan’s number.

The gap between the left and right flanks of the shoe lace holes is broad. This is part of the design of the shoe. There is a lining for the edge of the ridge and this runs from the shoe lace panels, right to the back of the shoe and to the other side of the shoe lace panel. The main body of the shoe has geometric patterns. They look cool.I like these patterns. The inner lining is white and coordinates with the white color scheme of the shoe.

The midsole has 3 layers. The first layer is white and has a line of machine stitches. It forms a running track line around the midsole. The second layer of midsole is black colored. At the heel, there is a pattern that looks like cut diamond surfaces on the shoe. At the center of the midsole, the pattern has three arrows.
