In honor of the “Friendlies” games that the USA Basketball Team is playing in China as a warmup to the Beijing Olympics, Nike has releases three special sneakers for three of the top players – LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony.

LeBron’s Zoom Soldier II PE features a Chinese character print design on the heel, around the midsole and fades toward the toe. A lasered lion is features on the heel tab. On the shoes is also the Chinese characters which translate into “Land” and LeBron’s jersey number. The special box for these shoes also features the lion, the Chinese characters that are on the shoe, and his number.

Kobe’s Mamba Hyperdunk, which previewed last month, comes in Team USA colors and features a snake design on the toe. On the special box are snakes, his number and the Chinese characters meaning “Solidarity,” “A long, long time” and Kobe’s jersey number.

Carmelo’s Olympia Supreme PE features graphics representing his love of dogs, as well as a breakdown of his number 15. Seven (symbolizing “Togetherness”) plus eight (symbolizing “Fortune”).The shoe also features a special box.Via Sneaker News.

The Nike Footscape Metro and the Nike Pocketknife Metro are women’s shoes. These sneakers are unique as the design on the shoe upper has been printed on the leather. There are no machine stitches, strap or panels as they are all printed onto the continuous, seamless upper. I like the idea. It looks fantastic and real.

The first picture shows the Nike Pocketknife Metro. The shoe upper is white. The mudguard is printed on the upper and this is dark green. The mudguard has a curved outline as it travels down the shoe. It looks like there are several panels of dark green segments but they are all printed on the leather. The Nike swoosh is printed using a bright orange color and it is placed at the midsection of the shoe. The inner lining is orange in color and so is the shoe lace.

The second picture shows the Nike Footscape Metro. I like this shoe better than the Nike Pocketknife Metro. The design has been printed on the shoe upper but the details are so rich that one can be deceived to think that this shoe is made up of several different segments that are sewn in seams together. One special feature is that the Nike swoosh has migrated from its usual positionnear the heel of the shoe to a new position on the toe box.

Fightclub Footwear has received the Nike SB Zoom Air Verona Premium slip-on. This slip-on sneaker come in a canvas/leather mix with a black/black colorway. It also features the gum sole that looks nice. Yen 12,800.

The Blazer is the next shoe releasing in the Nike August 2008 line-up. It comes in a cool combo of neon, red, black, and grey on the upper with a red/white midsole, and neon sock-liner. Look for these hot Blazers at your nearest Nike SB retailer next month.
