Vans x Carhartt Chukka And Halfcab - #1

Vans and Carhartt have teamed up on these shoes for fall. Carhartt has been busy in 2008 and their latest collaboration looks very nice. This Vans and Carhartt marriage is available in two different versions – Chukka and Halfcab.

You can instantly tell Carhartt is involved in making these shoes due to the workwear materials used throughout the shoes. As you can see, these kicks feature brown uppers, complemented with black soles and red laces and trim. If you want to give these shoes a more rugged feel, switch out the red laces for black or brown laces. These shoes are expected to be released some time in September. Via High Snobiety.

Not too long after that Nike SB released another batch of trainer Ibis, who like their predecessor received a warm welcome.

  • Nike Innovation Kitchen x Virtual Mo – Mobama Dunk Low 2008
By on August 14th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Virtual Mo, a shoe artist, has designed two pairs of Mobama Dunk Low 2008 in the Nike Innovation Kitchen. The Mobama name is taken from a combination of the names of the artist Mo and Obama. Mo shows his support for the Democrat Senator Obama.

This Mobama Dunk is a custom shoe because Virtual Mo designed it. However, this Mobama is manufactured in the Nike Innovation Kitchen. Presently, Virtual Mo made two pairs of these shoes but Nike might decide to release the design in a limited edition later on.

These two designs look similar. The main difference is that one design has the laser image of Obama imposed on the toe box. The other design does not have this laser image.

The toe box is pale blue with neat horizontal rows of perforations. The mudguard is dark blue. This blue leather forms a frame for the shoe and it extends back, all the way back to the heel of the sneaker. The midsection is in sky-blue leather. The Nike swoosh is red. The midsection has words that are printed on by laser. The white tongue does not distract from the light blue shoe lace. The color of the shoe lace is a good match with the midsection’s sky-blue leather.

The inner lining and outsole use the same dark blue color. I like the use of blue colors in these two pairs of shoes.

When the Defining Moments Package released, there were rumors that a third pair would release, the shoes that Jordan wore in North Carolina, Converse Pro Leather All-Star’s. Michael wore these shoes in the NCAA as part of the UNC Tarheels. No one has heard of these shoes since, but now we’ve acquired pictures of the shoes. The heel has a UNC blue logo of Jordan taking the winning shot at the waning moments of his first ever championship. The gold accents are similar to the gold in the DMP. Hopefully these shoes will hit the retailers soon!
