Beijing Olympics ended on August 24. It will be another 4 years to 2012, when the next Olympics will be held in UK.

Nike commemorated the closing of the Olympics 2008 with a shoe called Nike Air Force 1 “Closing Ceremonies”. The price is rather steep at $888. The graphic is laser etched over the shoe upper. The sneaker is housed in a special box featuring the significant date, 080808, and this shoe will be released on August 25.

The entire shoe upper is gold colored. The toe box has vertical columns of perforations. The mudguard surrounds the toe box and has the laser etchings of curved lines. This forms a nice border frame for the toe box. The shoe lace and inner lining of the shoe is black. The shoe lace holes are lined on panels that have the laser etchings. The tongue is gold colored and has a tag at the tip.The tag is black, with gold colored lettering.

The main section of the shoe is plain, without etchings. The Nike swoosh is attached over the midsection and it is a plain swoosh too. The panel that forms the heel has etchings again. The midsole has 2 layers. The top layer is gold colored while the bottom layer is black. This is a beautiful pair of shoes.

  • Nike Myst Dunk Low
By on August 25th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

SekureD introduced the Nike Myst Dunk Lows on his blog linked here. These custom Dunks start at the toes with a light purple paint splotched with black paint. The designer added his name in pink paint over the largest black spot to promote the SekureD line to attentive sneaker fans.

I like the progression of the shoe’s color and design elements as you move from the toe to the middle panel. The middle panel is a mural of gray, white and black lines that look like they lept off the canvas of an abstract painting. SekureD switched from light to dark purple for the rear panel as well as the shoe laces to complete the evolution of the Myst Dunk Lows.

SekureD has a pair of the Mysts in size 10US available through his online store right now. These sneakers are listed at $325USD but they are likely to be a hot item among serious fans of customs.

    Alife Shell Toe - Fall/Winter 2008 - Red - #1

The Fall and Winter Collection from Alife is beginning to hit retailers. This version of the Alife Shell Toe comes in red and grey suede. These shoes feature a white leather Alife patch on the tongue and heels, along with white laces and midsoles.

I like the red version a lot. Though it’s bold – it’s not too overpowering. Each pair of shoes comes with three sets of laces. You can order these now right now at Haven for $110. Via Hypebeast.

A-Trak Nike + Original Run “Running Man”is a special sneaker to celebrate A-Trak’s debut record named Running Man. A-Trak is a DJ and producer. This is a release under the Nike + Original Run series. This shoe was designed specially for runners. The extended middle section is good for thepavement pounding grove that runners experience. The sneaker ends with a down tempo closure for cooling down. The shoe is attractive with its clever blend of colors using blue, black, yellow and white.

This original mix is a predecessor of the run up to The Nike +Human Race; the world’s largest, one day running race. This race is expected to take place on August31, 2008. Around one million runners in 25 cities from all over the world will participate in a race that is 10 km long. This race promotes running and music through sports. The runners can run for a good cause and support charities that help the world and make society a better place to live in. The music from “Running Man: Nike +Original Run” is suggested as a good soundtrack to plug into while training for this race. The album is 45 minutes in duration. The album is available in the Nike Sport Music section of its iTunes Store.
