Reebok Omni Pump Olympics Yao Ming

In the last few months, perhaps the most talked about athlete in the world has been Yao Ming. With China being home to the 2008 Olympic Games, Yao was arguably China’s most recognizable athlete. Although he wasn’t able to lead the Chinese basketball team to the podium to take home a medal, Yao played well during the Olympics.

To help celebrate Yao and the Olympics, Reebok is releasing these new kicks. The Reebok Omni Pump Olympics “Yao Ming” shoes are unmistakable in their Chinese theme. You can see the traditional Chinese dragon and Reebok also uses red and gold throughout the shoe – two of the most popular colors in Chinese design. If you want to pick up a pair of these Reeboks, get them at Undftd. Nike Free Hybrid Boot - Swan/Black Granite-White-Varsity Red - #1

The newest hybrid shoe from Nike Sportswear is the Nike Free Hybrid Boot. Somewhere between a shoe and boot, this hybrid is equipped with Nike Free technology and an interesting design.

This particular clean colorway is reportedly a Babekub City exclusive. However, we’ll wait and see if that’s the case. The black laces offset these shoes and the red rickrack stitching on the tongue is a nice touch. Different color schemes of this hybrid boot may be on the horizon. Via High Snobiety.

  • Ryouki x Lacoste “Double Negative”

Ryouki and Lacoste have collaborated to design and make this shoe. Ryouki is a sneaker boutique. This project is named “Double Negative.” The two companies came up with two colorways. These shoes will be released in Nov. 2008.

Let’s look at the sneaker with the black, white and grey colorway. The toe box is white and it is surrounded by a thick border of grey colored leather. The midsection is white, with a logo of Lacoste in its center. The collar around the ankle is black. It merges into the tip of the tongue, which is also black colored. The shoe lace region and its accompanying shoe lace have the same color of light grey. The midsole below the toe box has two layers, being white and light grey in color. The midsole from the center to the heel of the sneaker has 3 layers. The top layer is specked in black and grey dots. There is a short white layer and the bottom layer of midsole is light grey colored.

Now, we’ll discuss the other colorway in Double Negative. It looks identical to the shoe discussed above. The difference is in the color of the mudguard. It is done in dark grey, which is near to black in color. I like this shoe better because of the dark colored mudguard.

  • Chrisco ‘08 Tweed Air Force Ones
By on September 3rd, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Chrisco has been busy recently upgrading his website and showing off some of his work from the past year. These Tweed Air Force Ones were posted by Chrisco on the Nike Talk thread linked here.

The designer went with a tweed fabric pattern around the heel rather than trying to paint this pattern. Chrisco showed off his skills by stitching the tweed pattern perfectly to the rest of the shoe. This pattern also features Chrisco’s signature just above the outsole in brown stitching. The stitching matches the brown leather on the front of the shoe.

I hyped up Chrisco’s New Balance Crackle in yesterday’s post without having seen the Tweed Air Force Ones. While the Tweeds may not be as colorful as the Crackles, I like Chrisco’s approach on these shoes. The use of a tweed pattern and the seamless execution by the designer equal fantastic custom sneakers.
