  • Air Jordan 7 – Bugs Bunny
By on September 8th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Here’s a pair of Jordan 7’s with a slight twist. This shoe design was actually used on Bugs Bunny when he did a couple of commercials with Michael Jordan. These where first seen in 1992 and where just for display and now 16 years later we see these kicks on auction on eBay. For any Jordan collector these are a must buy, not to wear but just to have them because we all know Bugs Bunny is one of our childhood cartoon characters.

A few pictures of the Gore Tex SB dunk leaked during the spring and now thanks to Colmilludo we have a (semi) detailed look at them. Little is known about these but from what we can see in the pictures they feature multi shade grey upper using suede and possibly leather materials. The perforation on the toe box has been removed. No info on release date yet.

    Alife Kennedy High - #1

The Alife Kennedy High is out in two colorways for fall – light mustard brown and black. These shoes are part of the Alife Fall/Winter footwear collection. This model was first introduced last season and was well received.

These shoes are created from premium leather and feature a gum sole with a look similar to the Clarks Wallabee. If you are looking to pick up a pair of leisure shoes for fall, these are a good choice. Flauge has both colorways in stock now. Via High Snobiety.

  • Nike Air Max Light Premium,Tartan
By on September 7th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Nike seems to be making a lot of shoes now that use a Tartan design. A Tartan design, for people who don’t know is a series of colored stripes. The color way is mostly black all around, along with red and blue stripes around the toe of the shoe. Nike has also added a very light blue to the laces of the shoe which accent the shoe very well with the bottom toe of the sole. These shoes are avaliable now.

  • Barbed Wire Dunks
By on September 7th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

JBF’s latest custom sneakers posted on Nike Talk (linked here) fell short of my expectations based on his prior designs. The designer wanted to turn a pair of blue/gray Nike Dunks into custom sneakers with black pinstripes. JBF notes in his Nike Talk post that the original design involved a clean set of pinstripes running around the shoe.

The problem is that JBF’s pinstripes weren’t executed effectively. JBF tried turning lemons into lemonade by dubbing his Nike Dunks the “Barbed Wires” because of the little black spots punctuating these stripes.

While I admire JBF’s hard work, I think that the black stripes are too precise to be barbed wire and too sloppy to be pinstripes. My larger complaint about these sneakers is the use of angled stripes running through the front panel. Even if JBF was able to create smooth pinstripes, the angled stripes would look out of place. The designer is capable of producing great custom sneakers but the Barbed Wire Dunks cannot be placed in this category.

  • Nike 1World Air Force 1 “Daisuke Matsuzaka”

This is a Nike 1World sneaker that shows the campaign created by Nike. Nike will go around the world to work with different people to create new shoes. This model is the product of the project with Daisuke Matsukaza, a Japanese baseball player. The basic model that is used is the Air Force One.

The result is a white/ orange colorway for a new Air Force 1. One special feature is the use of white pony hair. The orange leathers are from exotic leathers. To reflect the Japanese culture, a dargon motive was chosen to be placed on the heel and the inner sole. Daisuke Matsukaza plays with the Boston Red Sox under his number 18. Thus the design uses the number 18. This sneaker will be released at a later date.

The toe box is white colored. The mudguard, midsection and the Nike swoosh are also white colored. The shoe lace is orange, threaded through a panel of orange colored shoe lace holes. The heel is a large segment of orange exotic leather. The back tab is white. There is a collar of orange leather lining the ankle of the shoe. The orange midsole and outsole make this a bright looking shoe.
