  • Custom Nike Dunk – Thundercats
    By on October 26th, 2008 | 2 Comments2 Comments Comments

Being a fan of the series i decided to bring back these Nike Dunks that artist Mache custom designed with a Thundercats theme some time ago. Its starts off with a pair of Dunk Highs that use a red and black colorway. From there Mache added an image of Lion-O on the inner side of the right sneaker along with a image of the Thundercats logo on the outter side of the sneaker. The left sneaker has the initals TC on the outter heel which is done exactly like the Thundercats font style while the inner side has a design of Panthro. Mache then did the Nike Swoosh with a nice gradient design in a few different colors. The pictures of Lion-O and Panthro are spot on and couldnt be better if you ask me, its like they jumped straight off the screen and right onto the Dunks.

  • Custom Nike SB Dunk – Tigertaxi

Deinzconie from ISS designed these custom Nike SB Dunks. Deinzconie started off with a pair of the Taxi Nike SB Dunks and painted the heel panel, lace tab and frontal all blue and then laid down a tiger like pattern in a purple over that. Lastly his signature was added on the bottom of the heel panel. The simple job looks so much better then the original OG Taxis if you ask me. With some simple cleaning up here and there such as adding another coat to the stripes.

  • Nike Zoom Soldier II TB – white/grey colorway.
By on October 25th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

The Nike Zoom Soldier II TB white/grey is a colorway that is only available at the House of Hoops. The colorway reflects that of Soldier II. The story goes that during LeBron’s childhood, he used to play basket ball using milk crates. The patterns and prints used do reflect on this aspect of LeBron. The outsole has a herringbone pattern, which is inspired by King James and it is called the Milkcrate Technology.

The toe box is made of the light grey colored, patterned background. The shoe lace braces are grey colored and special. The tiny braces have tiny holes in them to create a patterned look. The shoe upper on the main section is made of white leather. The shoe has a collar around its ankle and the pattern is of tiny grey dots. The thick Nike swoosh is at the heel of the sneaker and attached on top of the heel panel. The midsole is light grey, with dabs of white and dark grey. The pattern of the midsole is continued on the outsole. The effect of the pattern of the colored outsole is fantastic. Although light and subtle colors were used, the effect came out well.

  • Black Soldier 3.0 Customs
By on October 25th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

In Champate’s third incarnation of the Black Soldier SBs, the prolific designer has shown his love of simple designs and craftsmanship. The Black Soldier 3.0 SBs will be released through Champate’s website on November 7th, 2008. Champate is making six pairs of the custom Nikes available between sizes 10 and 12 at a sticker price of $329.

These photos of the Black Soldier 3.0 were found at the Nike Talk post linked here. You can see Champate’s unique blend of design elements by checking out the photo above. Champate added his own logo to the front zipper as well as the tongue to brand his unique artistic vision. He also uses a black/gray leaf design beneath the gray Nike swoosh in the middle panel to break up the monotony.

The signature element of the Black Soldier 3.0s is the use of a zipper on the right shoe. The left shoe features standard white laces while the right shoe mixes black side laces with a silver zipper. If you want to get these shoes, you will need to sign up for the Champate newsletter at [email protected] for details on the upcoming presale. While I probably won’t get my hands on these shoes, I think they show some of Champate’s finest work.
