  • Nike Dunk Hi Spring 2009 & Nike Dunk Lo Spring 2009
By on January 1st, 2009 | No Comments Comments

These two Dunks from Nike are for the Spring 2009 collection. The Nike Dunk Hi and Nike Dunk Lo have a strong mix of colors and metallic colors. The release dates will be announced later by Nike.

Let’s look at the Nike Dunk Hi. The white toe box is hemmed in by a purple mudguard. The shoe lace panels are yellow. The tongue is blue with the Nike logo in white. The midsection is an earthy brown to remind us of the fresh earth of spring. The heel has a metallic bronze color. The Nike swoosh is white to avoid drawing too much attention with a color. The collar around the ankle is green to symbolize the fresh greenery of spring. The white shoe lace brings out the wonderful mix of colors on the shoe upper.

The Nike Dunk Lo is less colorful and a good pick for those who prefer mild tones. This Dunk Lo uses lime green accents for its mudguard, swoosh, tongue tag, collar of ankle and back tab. The subtle play of colors makes this shoe look good. Green will be a popular color for the spring collections of shoes. Nike has shown the lead with the debut of this lime green number for the Nike Dunk Spring 2009.

  • Chapel Hill Air Force Ones
By on January 1st, 2009 | No Comments Comments

D@ Prince Customs created custom Air Force Ones last year based on school colors from the University of North Carolina. After a year of sharpening his artistic skills, D@ Prince took another stab at turning Air Force Ones into a tribute to the UNC Tar Heels. I found these photos and information on these shoes at D@ Prince’s latest Nike Talk post linked here.

The Chapel Hill Air Force Ones were created for one of D@ Prince’s top clients and show the designer’s artistic evolution. On the left shoe, D@ Prince painted a perfect picture of Rameses the UNC mascot. The right shoe has the NC logo set behind a white and Tar Heel blue checkered swoosh. D@ Prince applied Tar Heel blue and white checkers in the middle panels as well as the Nike swooshes to complete the UNC theme.

D@ Prince topped off the Chapel Hill Air Force Ones with Tar Heel blue footprints running around both shoes. While the designer did a nice job on his last pair of UNC customs, the Chapel Hill AF1s show sophisticated techniques and vision from D@ Prince. From the fine details on Rameses’ school sweater to the flawless work done on the checkered middle panels, D@ Prince showed that he has arrived as a sneaker artist.

Nike Air Force II High - #1

The Nike Air Force II oftentimes gets lost in the shuffle among all the other releases. But to keep things fresh, Nike adds some new colorways to capture your attention.

Earlier they had a successful release of the Bobbito Air Force I High in a similar colorway and now they have applied it to the Air Force II High. Using a Varsity Royal upper, this shoe features a Flint Grey toe for some contrast. The white swoosh and midsole add some stark accents and the sneaker is finished off with a gum yellow sole.

Look for other new interesting colorways of the Nike Air Force II in upcoming months. Via Sole Collector.
