By on January 20th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Nike Zoom Kobe IV - Nike Zoom Kobe IV - #1

The latest version of the Nike Zoom Kobe IV is the “Mamba Edition.” Though you might not yet be sold on these low basketball shoes, you definitely will give this colorway a long look.

The white upper is complemented with Lakers’ purple and gold to give these shoes some extra pizazz. The toebox features shiny purple with ombre fading into the white. The gold is used on the Swoosh, the Kobe signature on the heel, and around the ankle. On the ankle, the gold leather has a snake-embossed print to give it that “Mamba” appeal.

There’s not a release date on these sneakers yet, but fans are hoping they’ll at least be available at House of Hoops. Via Sneaker News.

  • Nike Hyperdunk “That Ain’t Right” Pack
By on January 20th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

The Nike Hyperdunk That Ain’t Right Pack is on sale at the Nike Online Store. It goes for $110. There are three colorways to choose from.

Let’s look at the black/white colorway. The black toe box and shoe lace panel form a continuous segment. The midsole is made like a mudguard. The center of the sole has a light blue shield. The blue accent is found in the collar of the ankle.

The next shoe has a white and black colorway that is reversed from the former discussed above. The toe box is white. The midsection is black. This colorway is a little less striking but it looks traditional with its formal black and white design. There is a photo of the outsole. The message “That ain’t right” is printed on big letters on the outsole and covered by a large plastic piece.

The last Hyperdunk in the Pack has white, red and black in the colorway. The white toe box leads to a black tongue that is laced over by a red shoe lace. The Nike swoosh is red. The other red accents are at the backtab and midsole.

These three shoes are unique in their own right. They belong to a great Pack. (Images)

  • “I Hate Painting Safari Print” Nike Dunks
By on January 20th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

TWiTCH dubbed these custom Dunks the “I Hate Painting Safari Print” Dunks due to the amount of work required for completion. At the very bottom of the post, you will see the base pair and understand his frustration. I found the Safari Print Nike Dunks at TWiTCH’s recent Nike Talk post linked here.

The inspirations for TWiTCH’s latest Dunks were the Nike Safari (his favorite shoes) and a similar pair of customs from fellow designer 10F. The toe box, shoe laces and Nike symbol on the heel tag match the orange of the outsole. TWiTCH differed a bit from 10F’s custom by using black instead of orange on the swoosh, matching the black on the middle panel. He also separated his Safari Print Dunks from 10F by using a lighter color on the safari print backdrop.

I am a big fan of TWiTCH’s Safari Print Nike Dunks because he was not completely faithful to the original Nike Safaris. Instead of creating a clone of the Nike Safaris and 10F’s customs, TWiTCH displayed his interpretation of these patterns while adding his own flavor to the mix. The Safari Print Nike Dunks did not involve the simple application of an old pattern on a new shoe; rather, it took days of hard work and determination that are customary for TWiTCH to create great sneaker art.

  • Air Jordan IV Laser – Carmelo Anthony Gold Medal Game PE
By on January 20th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

This is a pretty dope color way of laser IVs, best I’ve seen hands down but lets get to the shoes. We all know Melo gets and wears plenty of Jordan PE’s but this PE is a little more special than the others are. This Laser IV was made for the Gold Medal Game in which Team USA defeated Spain by 11. They feature the classic USA color way of red, white and blue, navy blue pebbled leather upper with gold lasering. To break up all that blue are the red wing tips and white netting. Along with a red air unit in the white midsole. All of which sits so beautifully on the red outsole. There are only a few of this in existence so since they’ll most likely never release enjoy the pictures after the jump. VIA: tprel
