  • Fireman Air Force Ones
By on January 21st, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Fresh and Fly Customz recently customized some Air Force Ones for a friend in Canada who is a fireman. The Fireman Air Force Ones move beyond the typical flame licks, fire engine reds and other symbols of firefighting for a more subtle design. These shoes were featured recently on Fresh and Fly’s Customsnkr.com blog linked here.

The designer went to work on white AF1s by laying down some black patent leather on the middle panel. He separated the middle panel from the toe box with reflective material similar to the safety gear worn by firefighters. This material is also used at the top of the tongue, presumably to help the client stay safe in the dark.

While most of the shoe is shrouded in black paint and leather, Fresh and Fly added yellow and orange to symbolize flames. The stitching on the sole turns from orange on the heel to black on the toe as your eye moves forward. The yellow Nike swoosh is made with leather and looks as much like a bright fireman’s jacket as the flicker of a flame. Fresh and Fly completed these shoes with a pair of orange laces, giving a touch of brightness to an otherwise dark shoe.

  • Nike Air Max 1 Safari Fall 2009
By on January 21st, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Nike Air Max 1 Safari is a new creation that draws inspiration from its predecessors. It follows the good outlines of the classic sneakers. There are two colorways in this Pack of Safari designs. The shoes are available at Nike website.

The first shoe has an orange toe box. The mudguard is bright red. The midsection is black to set a balance with the colored segments. The black shoe lace is a good idea as it blends well with the rest of the shoe. The heel is in Safari print. The Safari print uses black and white which blends with the black leather. The last pair of shoe lace holes is decorated with red rims. The tongue’s tag has orange lettering for Nike. This orange leads us to the inner lining of the shoe, which is in orange. The white midsole is a contrast which draws attention to the shoe upper.

The other Nike Air Max 1 Safari has a purple and black Safari print on the mudguard around the shoe’s perimeter. The toe box is in thick fabric. The back of the heel and collar around the ankle are white. The purple Nike swoosh blends well as a purple accent. Both shoes have their own merits. (Images)
