  • Celebrity Rewind: Cam’ron ft. Juelz Santana “Oh Boy”
By on May 14th, 2014 | No Comments Comments

12 years ago today, Cam’ron dropped his Rocafella debut, Come Home With Me. New team, old jerseys, the Dipset movement was officially moving. The album’s lead single, “Oh Boy,” blazed the way for Cam on the Roc, also setting the stage for rising star Juelz Santana.

While the music video is full of Diplomatic Unity, Dame Dash hilarity and product placement for the Oh Boy fragrance, it also serves as a time stamp for one of the biggest moments in hip-hop fashion. In the early-2000′s, Dipset was on top of the gear game. Throwback sportswear, tall tees and iced out jewelry jump out for good reason, but Killa’s kick game was Grade A, too. Cut-and-sew styling flipped footwear classics like the Nike Air Force 1 and Timberland 6″ Boot, showcasing a time when apparel inspired footwear and not the other way around.

Though still a force in fashion and hip-hop, Cam’ron’s Rocafella run had Harlem style sweeping the nation, following in the footsteps of renowned resident Dapper Dan and eventually paving the way for A$AP Worldwide. Salute to Cam’ron and his kick game on the 12-year anniversary of Come Home With Me.
