The Vans California Chukka Boot “Leather & Denim” manages to achieve a no mean feat; it succeeds in imparting character to the fancied silhouette in loads. Little chance of going wrong when you use premium leather for the body and throw in some blue denim for accents; blue suede would have worked just as well. Bright yellow and brown rope laces snake their way through gunmetal eyelets.

The overall effect can be said to have been inspired by the biker culture that adopt denim in all its forms. $95 for a pair that evokes Americana.

The New Balance Women’s 574 “Rugby” in red / white-blue is a good choice if you’re looking for an everyday wear kind of sneakers that you can wear to the gym, the seaside promenade, or for a jog. Red canvas dominates the appearance. Off-white laces are threaded through red metal eyelets; the tongue and heel are off-white too. The “N” gets a stitched blue border which acts as an attractive contrast.

The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski “Digi Floral” makes for a pretty picture in orange on a grey background. Black appears on the laces, lining, and metal eyelets. The color combination is a good one for the fall season; good choice of colors. The woven patch stitched on the tongue tells us that this is indeed a Stefan Janoski creation and is meant for daily use.

The kicks feature an autoclave construction that fuses the soles to the upper. A white midsole gives way to an outsole with a herringbone tread. Textile upper and lining with a synthetic sole. Take a look at the images.
