This past week, Carmelo Anthony surprised many by rocking what may be a retro version of his first signature, the Jordan Melo 1.5. A hybrid of sorts, this introductory signature fused aspects of the first two Air Jordan installments for modern play. While many are excited for his first signature retro, we want to see one of his first PE pairs return to shelves. The Air Jordan 2 “Melo” saw Denver hues grace the rookie’s retros. This was one of the first times a player makeup lost its NBA exclusivity, releasing to the public but still in limited numbers. We’re ready for these to launch again. Bring ‘em back!

It’s always great seeing a well loved but long gone sneaker return, and the adidas Mutombo re-launch didn’t disappoint. There certainly weren’t many sneaker lovers saying “No, no, no!” to this adidas Originals returnee.

Our daily shoe selections can sometimes be tedious depending on the extent of our sneaker closets, but what if we had to size our collections down to one shoe? Air Jordan 10 “Steel”

Based entirely on experience, the one shoe in my collection that would have to get the deserted island treatment is the Air Jordan 10 “Steel.” While I rock and beat up the Black/Cement 3s on the reg, I can actually hoop in the “Steel” 10s, which is the deal breaker for me. These shoes have seen wear on the hardwood, they’ve been stepped on at the bar and they go well with the majority of my wardrobe. This retro release was surprisingly comfortable and really ahead of its time in a lot of ways, carrying components that almost feel like early versions of Dynamic Fit and Nike Free. Another great attribute about this shoe is that the leather cleans so easily. I remember being bummed about my pair back in the day because they had a big glue mark on the tongue but flaws and all, they’ve remained a favorite.
