  • Lance Stephenson’s Lincoln High And1 Tai Chi PEs
By on June 22nd, 2013 | No Comments Comments

Lance Stephenson received the ultimate honor from his high school alma mater, Lincoln High of Coney Island, when they retired his jersey earlier this month.Stephenson is arguably the most decorated prep player in the city’s history, a winner of four straight PSAL titles and the state’s all-time leading scorer with 2,946 career points. To honor the retirement of his jersey and his wonderful career at Lincoln High, And1 worked up a special And1 Tai Chi PE for Stephenson pictured above.

Following a successful run of Lance Stephenson and the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Playoffs this year, there have been many asking and speculating if we could possibly see a return of the And1 Tai Chi.The last time the Tai Chi came to retail was in 2009, time for a bring back?Let us know if you would like to see And1 bring the And1 Tai Chi back out in the comment section below.

  • Nike Air Max 95 “Doernbecher” Release Date
By on June 22nd, 2013 | No Comments Comments

Just a week ago, Nike announced that they would bring back five classic models from the Doernbecher series. Today, we find out that the first of the five will be the Nike Air Max 95 “Doernbecher” from 2007. Designed by Mike Armstrong, this makeup evokes patriotic pride with its red, white and blue colorway, but is stamped with emotion all over the upper. Look for the Nike Air Max 95 Doernbecher to re-release on July 6th for $140 online via @nikestore Twitter link and in store at Nike Town New York, Chicago, Georgetown, Roosevelt Field, Portland, San Francisco  Dallas, Los Angeles, Lenox and Las Vegas locations. Stay tuned to Nice Kicks for updates on the remaining Doernbecher series re-releases. Read designer Mike Armstrong’s story below, via Nike Insider:

Mike Armstrong participated in the Doernbecher Freestyle program in 2007 while he recovered from a surgery to replace a valve in his heart. With a brother in Iraq and a huge patriotic streak, the fifteen-year-old had no trouble picking the theme for his signature stars-and-stripes Air Max 95.

The blue, red and white upper is full of personal touches from Mike’s life, highlighted by the lasered words on the upper that chronicle his life and a personal logo with a heart, cross and wings.

As for Mike, now 22, he’s still the same easy-going guy with a heart that’s going strong. He went on to receive his degree in Automotive Technology, and today spends his time enjoying the great outdoors and building very fast cars.
