Presenting a Nike silhouette shorn of the latest technology for the upper, instead it settles for the time-tested suede and mesh combination. We are talking of the Nike Air Vortex Retro – Black – Summit White – Grey. And it is ready for some serious hard wearing. This is an OG creation, and not a yellow-soled VNTG silhouette.

It’s all black with an oversized tongue, a distinct Nike design different from what the masters in suede and mesh, New Balance, come up with. White on the Swoosh, laces, and midsole complete the monochrome effect. Available now for EUR 97.90. Take a look at the images; I’d cop a pair.

Another day, another Roshe Run release; this time it is the Nike WMNS Roshe Run “Atomic Pink”. It is available now and costs EUR 97.90. Atomic pink mesh appears on the upper, married to grey on the swoosh, inner lining, midsole, and the border on the eyelets. A lightweight piece that promises a snug fit and will go nicely with your jeans.

These rest on a white sole; check out the images. And hark back to the Nike Roshe Run “Total Crimson” that came out in April. Similarities exist, right?

The Nike Air Max 1 “Blue Suede” does not have a fixed release date yet, but something tells me Nike has a winner here and not just for Elvis fans. It’s one of eternal classic mixes — just like blue denim, blue suede too never fails to please. A very ‘down-to-earth’ colorway with three shades of blue on the upper. This rests on a white midsole.

Are there liquid shoe polishes available for these shades? I wonder.

The Graph, Numeral and Variable make up the Vans LXVI “Mint & Red” Pack that is set for a fall release. These cost $90, $70, and $75, respectively. These are feature-rich sneakers that boast ActionFit and PleasureCuff in the heel while UltraCush Lite and WaffleFlex technologies afford excellent cushioning. Land comfortably, these kicks flex with your foot’s anatomy.

The color combinations are creative to say the least; not that these haven’t been done before. Take a look at the images, does the Variable remind you of the Era?

I must confess that hitherto I was not aware of this model, it’s the Nike Ace ’83. It goes back three decades and though it made an appearance in the late 2000s in a slightly different avatar; it comes back as an original silhouette after a very long time. These are not, as you may be forgiven to believe, commonplace golfing sneakers. Back in the day, rocking a pair of these was kind of big deal.

Today, in this day and age of Hyperfuse, flywire, and Air Max soles, these sneakers may appear a little anachronistic but nonetheless, they do make an impression. Take a look at the images; most likely these are destined to be an Asia-only release.

  • Bring ‘em Out: DJ Clark Kent x Nike LeBron 8 “James Dean”
By on June 23rd, 2013 | No Comments Comments

Released in sample form but only allocated to select friends and family, the DJ Clark Kent x Nike LeBron 8 “James Dean” hit the web but it never hit retailers. Placing dark denim on a signature shoe two years prior to this weekend’s big release, the “James Dean” colorway kept it cool and kept it tough, relying on black accents and gum bottoms. Surely it will be years before the Nike LeBron 8 makes its second run, but we hope these get the retro treatment even if they never originally released. Hey Nike, bring ‘em out!
