Minnesota Timberwolves forward Derrick Williams simultaneously brought it back to the ’50s and ’06 with his most recent ‘Closet Appeal’ wear. In last night’s blowout win over the Phoenix Suns, Williams laced up the “MPLS” Nike Zoom Kobe I, a shoe that Kobe Bryant laced up during the 2006-2007 NBA season to coincide with the Lakers’ throwback Minneapolis (MPLS) uniforms. This shoe paid homage to the Minneapolis Lakers who were around for the late ’40s and throughout the entire ’50s. This is a very awesome wear for Derrick considering that he actually plays for a team that currently resides in Minneapolis.
Other highlights of the night included Jason Terry wearing a fighter jet inspired shoe in his return to Dallas and Gerald Green rocking an All-Star shoe from the past. View these kicks plus more, worn by Paul George, Monta Ellis, LeBron James and others, in today’s edition of Kicks On Court.
