The Nike Zoom Hyperdisruptor “Court Purple” colorway is now available and can be yours for $130. Look closely, and you may be able to discern what’s really cool about these basketball sneakers. They sport a one-piece upper and less rubber for a real lightweight pair of kicks.

The Air Jordan Retro V (5) ‘Fire Red’ is going to come out only in September. The sneaker has been retroed in the past and this version too was supposed to be one but now we get news that it gets a release in “true” colors.

The Retro V will have a leather white upper with red and black providing accents. Interestingly, the two colors swap positions on the midsole compared to the iteration just released.

The Nike Air Force One Low in white and white is an elegant no-frills sneaker in genuine leather. The construction sits on a solid rubber outsole. The air unit is ensconced in the midsole. Padding on the ankle provides comfort and a degree of shock absorption. Perforations on the toe and a speckled midsole complete the look.

Presenting the Vans California Era Decon & Old Skool CA Spring 2013 colorways. There are three pairs here. Two of these are of the Era Decon and cost $75 apiece.

We’re talking of a two-tone suede upper with pigskin lining. A contrasting heel patch also in suede appears on both as do white shoelaces. The colorways here are black / beech and gargoyle / brown.

The Old Skool has the most striking color combination of the three, it’s a flaming ginger colored upper with a nice light blue Vans stripe. It’s a heavy canvas and suede combination that works on this sneaker.

We’ve written frequently on collaborations; and invariably these are between two teams. But the Nike LeBron X “Carmex” features three. There’s Nike, there’s the lip balm manufacturer Carmex, and LeBron James who is the common factor between the two. Isn’t that cool, how effortlessly one can take marketing to the next level. Cross-branding at its best.

The yellow and university red colors of the upper represent the colors of the lip balm container. The midsole is white, as are the laces, lining, and the swoosh.
