The “Year of the Snake” is upon us, and Nike Sportswear is making sure one of the most popular silhouettes of all time, the Nike Air Force 1, is paying tribute in its own way. Flat red suede overlays pull bursts of color from the snakeskin paneling and midsole. The purple outsole, though seemingly alone, is brought to life via the purple liner. Finally, the black Nike Swoosh takes on a leather textile which is lined with gold and red stitching, matching the logo on the tongue. The Black Mamba took to Twitter to preview the “Purple Gradient” Nike Kobe 8 System prior to last night’s game against the Houston Rockets, and today Kobe Bryant and his purple 8s headline the latest Kicks On Court. As seen in the images below, this particular Kobe 8 features a light purple-to-dark purple gradient effect from toe to heel and also sports a black/purple speckled midsole.
