The Nike Air Max Hyperposite “Black History Month” PE sports the same print placed on the Nike Basketball and Sportswear collection, this time taking on the Foamposite fueled and Air Max assisted hoops shoe. Shades of brown and grey block the upper, accented by orange on the laces and lining. NBA star Rudy Gay and other Nike athletes will wear this model today to honor MLK.

We’re still a week and a half away from February; yet, that didn’t stop Kevin Durant from showing his Black History Month spirit early. In last night’s overtime loss to the Denver Nuggets, Kevin Durant debuted the “Black History Month” Nike KD V but only wore it for the first half of play. The “BHM” KD V, which features a color scheme of black, grey and brown highlighted in orange, will release this upcoming Saturday, January 26th, alongside the “BHM” LeBron X and Kobe 8 System. “Defy tradition…defy stereotypes…defy the odds…”

Today, Jordan Brand previews the Jordan “Black History Month” Collection for 2013. Set to release next month, the collection features the Air Jordan 1, Spiz’ike, and Melo M9. The Air Jordan 1 features a black base that is highlighted with a volt tag and liner as well as blue speckles throughout the design. The Jordan Spizike features an upper based in volt and highlighted with blue, which is the exact opposite of the Melo M9. PUMA offers a darker aesthetic on the PUMA Trinomic Trail for Spring 2013. The model is built for the outdoors, with the upper using materials from outdoor jackets. The design style mimics that of a hiking boot and the blend of nylon and suede help further those ideals. To help battle the elements, PUMA has included a waterproof guard around the toe. Those looking for a more rugged runner can pick up the PUMA Trinomic Trail at size?

Under Armour Basketball celebrates the great works of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on the Spine Bionic “MLK Day” PE. A grey base bares ‘Dream’ tagging on the tongue and insole, serving as a nod to the inspirational speech and the dream we now live today. Look for Under Armour athletes to wear this special makeup in NBA action tonight.
