An abundance of players debuted their Black History Month sneakers for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day yesterday. In detail, the Nike athletes took to the court in player exclusives that featured orange accents and a themed print composed of black, grey, and brown tones. The Hyperdunk 2012, Hyperposite, Hyperdisruptor, KD V, Kobe 8 System and LeBron X were a few of the silhouettes worn, while the Jordan Brand signature athletes, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony, hit the court in Black History Month versions of the Jordan CP3.VI and Jordan Melo M9, respectively. Other Jordan Brand athletes were seen in the Jordan Aero Mania “BHM” PE. Additionally, Under Armour athlete DeAndre Jordan laced up the MLK Day Bionic Spine, while James Johnson became the first NBA player to wear the Charge BB on court in an MLK Day colorway.
As for non BHM and MLK Day kicks, our Kicks On Court column noticed Iman Shumpert in both the adidas JS Streetball and the Packer Shoes x adidas Top Ten 2000 “2WO 1NE” during the same game, while Nick Young wore one of the nicest Kobe 8 System iDs we’ve seen to date. View these kicks plus more, worn by Isaiah Thomas, DeMarcus Cousins, Al Horford and others, below.
