Arguably one of the best NBA players of all time, Kobe Bryant and Nike introduce his 8th signature sneaker, the Kobe 8 System. Staying true to the past few signature Kobe sneakers, the Kobe 8 System is focused on performance and incorporates some new tech as well as some current favorites, such as Lunarlon, from the Beaverton brand. Engineered Mesh, which Nike officially introduced a few weeks back, is used on the upper of the low-cut shoe and Lunarlon provides the cushioning you need. The familiar heel counter returns, but has been slimmed a bit to fit with the mesh.
The introduction of the new Engineered Mesh provides a new look on the Kobe 8 and allows for greater options when it comes to color. Additionally, it has contributed to a bit of weight loss, bringing the Kobe 8 System down to 9.6 ounces. Like the LeBron X and the KD V, the Kobe 8 will hit NIKEiD on December 4, however, orders of the Kobe 8 on NIKEiD will not be allowed until December 20.
The first colorway of the Kobe 8, Black/Sulfur, will drop on December 20 with a price tag of $140. The python-inspired colorway of the Kobe 8 will laun in Greater China on January 12, 2013, and in North America on February 2, 2013. Stay tuned for much more in the coming days on the Kobe 8 System.
