For the first 14 years of his career (Dallas, Phoenix, New Jersey), Kidd dropped dimes, ignited fast breaks and initiated offense in various player exclusives and iconic Nike signatures, such as the Nike Zoom Uptempo V; however, following his last Olympic run in 2008, Kidd left Nike for PEAK, a Chinese footwear brand that currently provides footwear for multiple NBA players. Kidd also returned to Dallas – where it all started for him – following the 2008 Olympic Games, but due to the footwear change (and the absence of Jamal Mashburn and Jim Jackson), it wasn’t the same J-Kidd we watched in the 90s. Yet, without any mention of a return to where it all started for him footwear-wise, Kidd began the 2011-2012 NBA season in the Nike Zoom Brave V, an updated version of the Nike Zoom Uptempo V, and would eventually wear NikeiD versions of the Nike Zoom Uptempo V sporadically throughout the season. Is he back with Nike? Yes.
