Kanye West has always stated that he was a designer before he was a rapper. While his credibility may have come in opposite order from a sneaker standpoint, his respect for his peers has been apparent for some time. Such was seen at 2008′s G.O.O.D. Music Showcase in London. After shutting down a Glow in the Dark stop in a sample colorway of his yet be released Nike signature, Kanye introduced his new roster to a new market in the Jeremy Scott x adidas Wings. Always a trendsetter, Ye was one of the first to sport his friend’s sneakers, all while designing his own.

Nike SB gives us a look at the latest colorway of the Team Edition 2 today, which is slated to be a part of the brand’s July collection. This skate-ready silhouette features an off-white canvas upper, while being surrounded with hits of pure white on the sole, laces, tongue and heel tab. Black branding also appears on the side and atop the tongue. Grab your size later this summer at select Nike SB retailers.

Under Armour unveiled one of, if not its most innovative footwear design earlier this week in New York City. The Under Armour Spine, a silo inspired by the actual human spine, weighs in at 9.7 ounces. Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank was in attendance to introduce the Spine, along with UA’s creative director of footwear Dave Dombrow and others. Additionally, brand members Tom Brady, Lindsey Vonn and Kemba Walker were present and shared their experiences in the Spine pertaining to training. The Under Armour Spine will officially release on June 29th, 2012 in multiple color schemes.
