By on January 15th, 2012 | No Comments Comments

It’s been a long time since we have seen Ray Allen in his Air Jordan 13 PEs. In fact, it has almost been a year since he debuted this sneaker, which was easily one of the biggest surprises of 2011. If you recall, he unveiled this sneaker on the very night he broke Reggie Miller’s three-point record against the Los Angeles Lakers. Later in the year, Jordan Brand shockingly made this shoe available to the public; yet, it was released in limited quantity at select retailers. Ray Allen brought this shoe out for Boston’s Friday the 13th game against the Bulls last night. Were you able to get your hands on Ray Allen’s 13s last year? View these kicks plus more, worn by LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Derrick Rose and others, below.

By on January 15th, 2012 | No Comments Comments

Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson has made some pretty intriguing appearances in our Kicks On Court column over the past couple of years. Last season, we spotted him in sneakers such as the “Electric Green” Nike Air Foamposite Pro for 2011′s NBA Green Week and NikeiD colorways of the Zoom Flight Five. This year, the former UNC Tar Heel has kept it simple with iD colorways of the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011. What about his off-court wear? We recently caught up with Ty to find out what sneakers are in his current rotation. He definitely has a nice mixture of his personal favorites, recently released drops and everyday wear.

Also, Ty revealed some of his sneaker collection to us. Check out his five-sneaker rotation in addition to some of extensive collection below.

By on January 15th, 2012 | No Comments Comments

Tomorrow marks the first launch from Nike’s 2012 “Year of the Dragon” pack in the form of the limited “Year of the Dragon” Air Force 1 at Tier 0 accounts. In honor of welcoming another year of Zodiac-inspired sneakers, we offer you a look back at the Swoosh’s Chinese New Year AF1 releases – a tradition that began early in the last decade. Make sure you cast your vote at the end of the feature, and let us know which Lunar New Year release has been the best so far.

Nike Air Force 1 “Year of the Horse”

This Lunar New Year was so popular it got not one but two releases in 2002. Featuring a galloping horse on the insole and the character for “horse” on the tongue and heel tab, this red and white release remains one of the more coveted Chinese New Year AF1s to date. It’s no wonder the horse in the Chinese Zodiac is associated with popularity and intelligence, because these are a no-brainer.

  • Kicks On Court: Monta Ellis Stars in “Space Jam” 11s
By on January 15th, 2012 | No Comments Comments

Golden State Warriors guard Monta Ellis has been a pleasant surprise in our Kicks On Court column this season. After rocking AND1 for the past few years, we have seen the former Mississippi high school sensation wearing nothing but Jordans so far this year. Last night, Monta Ellis wore his third Air Jordan 11 colorway of the year in the form of the “Space Jam” 11s (previously, we spotted him in the “Concord” & “Silver Anniversary” 11s). He obviously didn’t have the game of his liking (6-26 from the field), but he was undoubtedly a stud by rocking the best kicks on court last night in front of Michael Jordan who sat courtside. No word yet on whether or not Monta Ellis is the latest Jordan Brand member, but we would definitely like to see Ellis bring more heat to the court. Is Monta the MVP of Kicks On Court so far? View these kicks plus more, worn by Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Rudy Gay, Derrick Rose and others, below.
