The Puma Blaze is among the brand’s most staple silhouettes, and as it returns to the spotlight it appears in a never-before-seen look, as customized by Jonathon Carrington. The design takes influence from the island of Maui, a beautiful scenery that the designer has been fond of during his trip to the Pacific.

Maui’s diverse landscapes highlight the volcanic cone in the chain of the Hawaiian Islands that is rich in highly fluid lava. Several of the volcanoes were close enough to each other that lava flows on their flanks overlapped one another, merging into a single island. With this in mind, Carrington came up with an idea that may serve better for the Puma Blaze as he decorated the black leather upper with orange detailing and applied a lava-textured orange midsole. Black suede also comes along the collar and with some old rose accents on the tongue, heel pull tab, and portion of the midsole.

The Nike Zoom Rookie continues to impress sneakerheads, reporting new and unseen colorways nearly every month. Today, we take a look at the subtly-new Nike Zoom Rookie Black/Anthracite. This pair, which features a similar look as the Nike Zoom Rookie “Binary Blue”, features a dark anthracite foamposite material throughout the majority of the upper. Hits of black nubuck can also be seen gracing the lace eyelets, toe box, ankle collar and tongue. Both, the Nike Air Huarache Basketball 2012 and the Nike Huarache Free 2012, are now available at select Nike retailers nationwide. Specifically, these two models will serve as Nike’s quickstrike release for December. Both are direct takes on the early 90s Huarache releases that garnered attention for all basketball players and runners. The Nike Zoom KDIV is quickly becoming one of the years biggest surprises. Attracting the attention of old and new sneakerheads, this performance-based basketball model continues to get some of Nike’s most eye-catching colorways. Today, we get a glimpse at the “Creamsicle” colorway that became famous on the Nike Zoom KD II. Placed toe-to-toe with the upcoming Christmas colorway, the creamsicle colorway stands distinguished from the rest, using a tonal-orange mainstay with the photo blue details.
