There is no question that the original, varsity royal/black colorway of the Nike 1/2 Cent garnered more attention than any of this model’s subsequent colorways. However, was the original colorway the best? A year ago, Nike unleashed the “Eggplant” Nike 1/2 Cent, a sneaker that also soaked up attention when it hit the shelves. The eggplant color scheme has proven to intrigue sneaker enthusiasts no matter what model it captures, and this 1/2 Cent is a testament of that (see our Purple Stuff: Nike’s 14 “Eggplant” Sneakers).
Did you purchase the Nike 1/2 Cent “Eggplant” and was it worth the money you paid for it? If not, are you wishing you had snagged it last fall? How does the “Eggplant” colorway compare to the other Nike 1/2 Cent colorways (“Cranberry”, Varsity Royal, Metallic Silver)? Lastly, was this one of your favorite Nike releases of 2010?
