Pro Combat is a love/hate effort for many college football traditionalists, but Nike’s efforts for Army deserves the greatest of praise.Uniforms, gloves, and helmets aside (we’re here for sneakers right), the Free Trainer 1.3 worked up for West Point pays tribute to all men and women serving our country on the ground in the middle east.

When we posted the photos, I can’t begin to tell you how many friends and former classmates who served hit me up to ask how they could get a pair.Hat tip and salute to Nike for showing love to ARMY recognizing the men and women at West Point as well as the brave troops on the ground fighting in Iraq and Afganistan.

Did you know today’s talk of the town shoe on eBay? You may have heard about Marty McFly’s sneakers featured on the 1989 Back to the Future movie sequel where Michael J. Fox starred. The 2011 Nike Mag is a perfect replica of the original shoe worn by Michael J. Fox in the movie but with some revisions such as the omission of the self-lacing system since in the movie, wires run under Fox’s pants in order to operate the mechanism. This 2011 version has ankle strap that sports a reflective Nike label and a LED-fused sole that’s battery operated emitting lights at the touch of a button. In a more realistic way, this shoe is constructed with a wearable design in stealth colorway with neon splatters on the midsole, white Swoosh, and fixed lacing system.

In 2000, Nike introduced the Total 90 a sub-brand specifically designed to be used for association football with a range of products consisting shoes, shirts, shorts, and other accessories. The name Total 90 is derived from the 90 minutes traditionally played in football match, with ‘Total’ implying that the athlete who represents the ‘Total 90′ ethos is capable if giving maximum effort at any point in the game. Today it is commonly abbreviated by Nike themselves to ‘T90′.

A year later, the football boot received the latest innovation with the silicon pods and TPU rubber fins plus strips of hard rubber to the forefoot which shift and bend with the movements of the foot.
