Some of you might remember the Nike Air Rift, a shoe that was first released back in 1995.The shoe was created for Kenyan runners who needed a shoe that would better emulate the barefoot running that they were used to.A shoe trying to emulate being barefoot may seem sort of contradictory, but of course shoes are required in any Olympic event.
Nike used a split toe design with an ergonomic sole and low profile neoprene sock liner to achieve the barefoot feel, and the result is a very comfortable sneaker.Retro and purist sneakerheads will be happy to know that Nike will be releasing these as two of the OG colorways that were released back in 1995.We will be getting a purple and yellow colorway as well as a black white and green version. We expect these to be popping up in stores very soon, maybe by the time you read this.
