  • D-Town Converse All Stars
By on April 6th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Designer Troy Murray celebrated the city of Detroit with his latest customs, the D-Town Converse All Stars. Murray used size 10 All Stars as the canvas for this sneaker creation which is available for $140 through his Facebook page linked here.

These sneakers feature graffiti along the sides that is colorful and well-designed. The blue “D-Town” lettering is surrounded by exaggerated yellow borders that pop off the black background. I loved the color choices on the D-Town Converse All Stars because they work well together and jump out at the casual observer.

The D-Town Converse All Stars are finished with the distinctive D of the hometown Detroit Tigers. The gritty design used by the young sneaker artist represents the hard-knock lives of Detroit residents. You can hit up Troy Murray for your own customs by emailing [email protected] today.

  • New Balance M575J – White Ostrich Leather
By on April 6th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

New Balance seems to proclaim that it has created a new paradigm of balance and elegance in the footwear market, and judging by the quality of this design, we believe that they do have the right to be heard.

The upper of this pair is a mix of ostrich leather and the usual grainy white that we are more accustomed to. Is this a balanced design? Of course it is, as it is all white, but it is also heavy, mighty, and exciting. The difference between the balance of New Balance, and the balance in the designs of the many other brands maybe lies in this distinction.

New Balance’s  enginners(!) draw our attention to the details of this design in the laces, the rear outsole, and the toebox. We don’t see any fault with this creation, and if anything, we love the audacious humility of New Balance in creating such a speaceful item. They will arrive at select US retailers soon. • Greedy Genius Sneaker Bomb in LA
By on April 6th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

There appears to be a strange new phenomenon in the city of angels nowadays, with stylish shoes created by Greedy Genius hanging from wires, poles and similar high-reaching structures where you wouldn’t expect any shoe-wearing human being to dwell. Perhaps the angels sometimes choose to wear the Greedy Genius brand over everything else in the scene, maybe it’s just the Green Goblin playing a trick on us helpless mortals, or perhaps it’s just the UFOs who want to catch a comfortable pair of these beautiful shoes, who are then hindered by the wires as they attempt to depart.

Well, we cannot claim to know the truth behind this really unusual situation, but isn’t it just another reason to have a pair of the Greedy Genius brand? You can just let your creativity have full freedom, and amaze and surprise your friends and strangers alike with the new ideas you can find for this new game. But whatever you do, if you catch those behind the fad, do tell us, we want to interview them!

  • Nike Air Max 1 ND – Holiday ‘09
By on April 6th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

The Women’s Air Max is one of the best designs for women’s footwear in the market these days. The combination of Nike power with ladylike elegance creates these superb creations that look like they have a hard time staying on the ground, instead of climbing rapidly up above the clouds.

A combination of suede/mesh material gives the pair an air of maximal power, while the solid colors of the upper make it seem like a piece of magnificence disguised in humble details. We love the way this was conceived, with lots of subtle hints barely signaling the true purpose of the designers.

This mysterious pair is not yet available, and it will not be available very soon after it’s released. If you don’t act now to catch your share of the treasure, you may regret it forever.  All the power in the world won’t  match one pair of Nike excellence. Via Sneakernews.com.

Adidas has taken an original 70’s shoe and redesigned the classic favorite into their first ever ladies sailing shoe release….thus the Sailing Light has been born!  It is a very stylish working shoe, and one that will always look fantastic while holding you firm to the deck.

A lightweight mesh upper provides not only comfort, but the use of fresh, vibrant colors, gives it wide range appeal.

To complete the shoe, a very soft textile lining lends additional comfort and the pimple outsole provides ultimate grip and rugged durability.

If in fact you are a sea going lass, taming the choppy seas will be a breeze in your Sailing Light’s.  There will be no going over broad for you with those awesome gripping soles!  If you are a land loving gal, then these shoes are the perfect choice for a day on the wharf, as their classic style will definitely turn a head or two.  Anchors aweigh Ladies!

  • The Nike KD1
By on April 5th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

I conducted a little experiment this morning.  I asked my grandsons, if money was not an issue, what pair of shoes they would buy right now.  The thirteen year old, without hesitation, choose the Nike KD1.  He said he liked the style of the shoe, and that “everyone” was getting them.  To me, that is probably the best endorsement possible!

The Nike KD1’s developer, Kevin Durant, has designed a sleek shoe that conforms around the foot like a custom made glove would fit a hand.  The shoe’s graphics are reflective of  KD’s spirit and dedication.  There are symbols of a post stamp and a security badge to emulate the occupations of his mom and dad.  The stretch panel around the lateral malleolus allows for the upper to conform around the ankle bone.  The need for tongue foam is eliminated by a thick open mesh. The rubber sole and the forefoot ZOOM AIR unit helps to give plush performance and smooth control.  The vibrant colors of black, orange and blue completes the package.

A shoe with superior styling and flashy eye appeal makes it winner.
