Casey Custom Sneakers created the North Carolina Air Force Ones back in December for a big Tar Heels fan. The designer’s UNC-inspired sneakers have gained renewed interest in light of the school’s recent victory in the NCAA Championship. The North Carolina AF1s feature a checkerboard pattern with alternating dark blue and Tarheel blue panels. The dark blue panels feature the UNC logo in white while the Tarheel blue panels feature the team’s mascot Ramses. The designer spreaded this pattern from the toe box to the heel to create an explosion of Tarheels imagery.

Casey Custom Sneakers uses the larger spaces on the tongue and middle panel to zoom in on the mixture of Ramses and the UNC logo. With all apologies to Michigan State fans, I can imagine that more custom sneakers honoring the North Carolina Tarheels will emerge in the following weeks. Fresh like mint, solid like a rock, this is a stunning combination from Nike that threatens to cause an tornado in the sneaker scene, bringing down the dreams and hopes of all other brands.

You’ve probably seen the Air Jordan 1 Phat Low Tuxedo Pack White from the last post, here is its counterpart, the “Black Tuxedo”. Will be also released on Saturday together with the white one.
