  • Jordan True Flight Rip Hamilton Player Edition
By on February 22nd, 2009 | No Comments Comments

This shoe belongs to the Jordan True Flight Player Edition. It was made for Rip Hamilton. The shoe upper is white, with accents in blue and red.

Do you like the way the shoe lace is almost eliminated in this design? I like the unique look. The toe box is reinforced with paneling that form protective sheaths over it. The collar at the ankle has blue colored panels with the red Air Jordan figure. The blue panels have perforations to add details. The back of the heel has a triangular shape with a red border and blue core with a smaller Air Jordan logo. There is a small red tag at the back of the collar and this color matches the border of the triangle frame.

The midsole is blue with a set of overlapping ridges. These bind the sole to the shoe upper and help provide support. The twin peaks are decorative in design as well. The tag at the tipoff the tongue has a red colored number “32” which reflects the jersey number of Rip Hamilton. I think the shoe looks great with a solid design. (Images)

  • Neon Tetris Dunks

Self-titled sneaker freaker Daniel Reese has created dozens of hot customs under the label Brass Monki UK. My favorites from Brass Monki are the Neon Tetris Dunks, a four-pack of sneakers inspired by the classic video game Tetris. I found this photo at the Brass Monki Facebook page linked here.

The unifying element among all four pairs of Neon Tetris Dunks is the blur of colorful blocks on the middle panel. Reese used block colors like orange, magenta, light blue and yellow when designing the upper heels and toe boxes. The designer went as far as to paint the soles and switch out the shoe laces to match each sneaker’s distinct pattern. The Neon Tetris Dunks are fantastic examples of the small details that need to be addressed when creating sneaker art.

The Neon Tetris Dunks are not available for sale at this point but the Brass Monki brand is growing by the day. Reese likes to work on one-off customs that set his clients apart from fellow sneaker freakers. If you want to get in touch with Brass Monki to celebrate your favorite video games (maybe Duck Hunt or Metal Gear), you can reach the designer at [email protected].

Nike Air Huarache Light Burst AJ11 Pack

The Nike Air Huarache Light Burst is obviously a light running shoe made of a mesh upper. The latest release highlights colorways influenced by the Air Jordan 11, which are indeed simple yet cool. The all Grey and Black/Red colorways find their way to be the next hit in the market. Both colorways’ insoles has the masked Jumpman print on depicting the inspiration of the theme. Now available at Nike’s online store.
