Uniform Experiment x Fragment Design x Nike Tennis Classic

Check out the Uniform Experiment x Fragment Design x Nike Tennis Classic. It comes in two colorways and features a number of unique aspects. These shoes could be a hot hit in 2009.

The two colorways are white and blue, with each shoe featuring a white midsole. The perforated Nike swoosh on both versions is very well done and keeps up with the minimalistic feel of these kicks. Additionally, both shoes feature the same logo on the back heel. Via High Snobiety.

  • Air Jordan 2009 S23 Black/Metallic Gold colorway
By on February 2nd, 2009 | No Comments Comments

The Air Jordan 2009 S23 has a black and metallic gold colorway. This shoe will be released on January 31. The shoe is built upon the basic model of the Air Jordan 2009.The cost is $230 per pair.

The toe box and mud guard are built into one. The metallic gold adds class and distinction to the shoe. The entire midsection is covered in a striped pattern. The diagonal stripes follow the outline of the shoe. The pattern uses a simple idea but the effect is quite elegant. The heel has the strips slanted at a different angle. The tongue also uses the same striped pattern. The shoe lace is neatly tucked into the tongue. A panel of leather in the shape of a V separates the midsection from the heel. The inner lining is of course black colored.

Looking at the midsole and outsole will tell us about the intended purpose of this shoe. It looks like a dress shoe sole. The metallic black used in the shoe is one of the most outstanding featuresrecommended in this Air Jordan 2009 S23. The price may be a bit steep but considering that it is an Air Jordan, it may be worth the buy. (Image)

  • 808s and Heartbreak Nike Blazers
By on February 2nd, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Mizzee Customs used Kanye West’s album 808s and Heartbreak as the muse for these custom Nike Blazers. West’s 2008 album featured a melting red heart on a gray background as well as a multi-color pattern on the spine and back cover. You can find more about the 808s and Heartbreak Nike Blazers at the Mizzee Customs MySpace page linked here.

Mizzee replicated all of the elements from the album’s cover with a few twists. The red heart is recreated on the tongue and the colored checks can be seen just above the midsole. The designer’s custom Blazers come to life, however, when you turn out the lights.

In the last photo in this post, you can see the 808s and Heartbreak Blazers glowing in the dark. Mizzee Customs added an invisible heart along the sides of both shoes that emerge when the lights go down. The designer also added a glow-in-the-dark “Welcome to Heartbreak” on the heels to honor the anger and sadness that went into making this album. You can contact Mizzee Customs at [email protected] if you are interested in getting your own custom sneakers.

  • Allsorts Air Force Ones
By on February 1st, 2009 | No Comments Comments

The Allsorts Air Force Ones by KickerBockerGlory are a departure from the UK designer’s more elaborate efforts. These simple customs do not feature detailed comics, bright colors or any other fine details that have become his signature moves. As you can see at the KickerBockerGlory website linked here, the Allsorts AF1s are just as charming as the rest of the designer’s catalog.

KickerBockerGlory painted the heel stripe and Nike swoosh black with a matching set of laces to boot. He proceeded to paint the middle panel, toe box and eyelets orange, the most brazen of the colors used by the designer. The Allsorts feature a toe and back panel with a simple gray color that offsets the orange paint.

The designer priced the Allsorts Air Force Ones at about $145 USD (100 pounds) with free shipping within the UK. The Allsorts on display at the KickerBockerGlory website come in size 10 UK though he can replicate this design for interested consumers. I am a big fan of KickerBockerGlory’s work even when he decides to take a subtler approach to his sneaker art like the Allsorts Air Force Ones.
